Rylans new 2011 f-250 Proline body. Its not mounted in this pic. That's my scx chassis. Ive got some really sweet stealth mounting brackets to finish fabricating then it will be time to design a bed/cage, and off road front and rear bumpers.

This one here is my new trail rig body. Mine is Electric Blue, and Rylans is Blue Streak. Little differences here and there like he has chrome bumper and I don't. If I didnt make em somewhat alike he'd be mad cause he dont have one like his daddy.lol.....kids

Nice looking bodies Nate.

I am back in the good ol USA again, not sure I will be able to do any RCing this weekend though. Maybe.

Looking good Nate. So been talking to Ed and he's trying to build some stuff for crawlers in his back room. Was over there Saturday and Sunday trying some things out.

Anyway hope to get something going its been a while since we've had a big group. Also been trying to get some more people to the group.

Yeah we do need to have a get together. Have a cookout, and just make a day of it.
I've been trying to get a few others involved. I met two guys in the Hampton Roads area selling a few things on CL. They both claimed that they have nobody to trail with, but never can show up when invited. Anyhow I have my work cut out for me. Im gonna try to do one project at a time with mine and mh boy's rigs so that we can continue to run on the weekend. Im not sure how that is gonna pan out though. Lookind forward to the design build of the bumpers for our trucks. Here is some pics of the stealth body mounting system I threw together.

Thanks. Got a lot of time invested in those bodies already. I think they turned out good. I don't wanna bash anyone here on the forum but you guys remind me later and will give y'all the heads up about a site you need to avoid ordering bodies from.

There is almost a lifecycle with attendance and participation with these meetups. When I first started this thread our group grew pretty significantly, then it died off a bit and then it picked back up again last year and now it has died a little again. I am confident it will pick back up again sooner or later. There is a nice balance with a small group of decently equal rigs though that is much more fun than a large group of various levels, in my opinion. Too many people can become a drag on a trail ride.

Something that we (as a group) need to keep in mind is that we need to keep it fresh by rotating the meetup spots. I feel that this is important to keep all of us interested as well as fun for newer guys who join. One thing that I think is great that we have adapted is all of us getting better about not hand of god-ing the rigs all the time and actually taking a scale approach to the runs. I know I really enjoy this aspect of our meetups a lot more than when we first started as a group.

We are all adults with a bunch of other "real life" shit going on all the time which makes it hard to get away and play with toy trucks in the woods every single Sunday, so maybe it would help if once a month we had a "Big/Official" get together that we can plan on...an event that if you can only go out once that is the one to attend; like you suggested grill out some food and have a course (or not) and make a whole 6-8 hour event out of the deal. Something like this would help bring new guys into our group, I think, as opposed to the meets we have now. Then the rest of the weekends have the smaller get togethers that we have now? Don't get me wrong, I like the meetups we have now I am just thinking something that is planned out ahead of time and something that is a bigger deal might help our group's attendance and enthusiasm.

Thoughts?

I'm down. Its understood that attendance on Sundays is not always going to be huge, you said it best, life happens. Having something large to schedule and make plans for would be cool too and even allow for time to repair and customize leaving another refreshing element to the hobby. I'm in the process of trying to buy a house and will hopefully have some time and resources available to build a small but fun course out back that will allow local access and access to facilities for cooking and creature comforts that we most likely not have on the larger planned outings. That aside I'm always open to Ipswich, bone yard, carrolton, etc weekend permitting. Shit you guys are cool to hang with crawling or not.

That sounds like a great plan Bo. I like the idea of an official club get together once a month. We have a great great group of guys (the ones that I have met) and I think that it would encourage a better turn out if everyone had some advance notice and could plan for it. I'm with ya on that. I say let's do it.
