New to the Losi Comp Crawler or Losi Night Crawler - Post your questions here!

hey everyone, im in the process of tearing the axles apart on my losi (this is my first lcc). can someone please post a pic of a bad worm gear compared to a good one. thanks

I will be buying my first crawler ( Losi Night Crawler) soon and was wondering what battery and charger you would suggest I get? I plan on this being the first of many crawlers I will own so as much as I want to quit saving and start buying I don't want to just buy a set of cheap batteries and a cheap charger and throw good money after bad. I have been reading so much about NiMh and LiPo I am not sure what route to go to get started. Thanks for the help

On the charger it depends how much you want to spend. I use a hyperion Duo it will charge 2 battries at once and about anytype of battery you would ever want, but it is a spendy proposition ~300$, but there are other good chargers out there for less money (some one else will have to weight in on them). I would go Lipo you get so much more energy in alot smaller package, they can be snuck about anywhere on the LNC and it greatly lowers CG. As far as brands I have run expensive and cheap batteries and the cheap perform as well (if not better) just make sure the the c raiting is there (discharge raiting). I run these with no problems in the LNC http://www.hobbypartz.com/83p-1300mah-2s1p-74-20c.html .

i use this charger, it's cheap and it works :) charges all kinds of batteries, you need a 12 volt power supply though :)

tapping losi axels

there are a couple guys here that are tapping their losi axels and putting in a grub screw to make for easier greasing. if anyone has done this could you please post some pics as to the best way to do it. in theory it sounds like a good idea

This as probably been asked a thousand times and im sorry. Is the only way to tell you have recalled worm gears is from your serial #? I'm also wondering if they newer rollers are fixed, or could they still have the same problem? Thanks >_<

Need a battery for my losi comp crawler I want to run a 3s lipo 11.1 1300mah need to fit stock location any links to good cheap batterys

lcc

i have run the brushless and the old stock 27 turn seemed to work well with the 12 pinion still gets hot but i still have not checked my worms yet. I just got the moa kit, still putting it together but it should work well. All in all i still love my LCC, got an axial to compare and the LCC just kicks A**!

i think the newer ones are fixed mine is over the 4000 mark and everything was correct and it even came with v3 cvd's

I'm running with novak goat 3s with a 21.5t motor, what pinion tooth count do i need, i want it pretty balanced, Thanks for the help
and is this what i would be needing?

those are for the bigger 5mm shaft motors and 32pitch. you want just normal pinions like you would get for a brushed motor and in 48pitch.

13, 14, 15 tooths are good to start with

The Hyperion VX g3 battery is really good for ~35 dollars. Has a 35c/65c rating and 5c charge. Runs only 1100mah but it lasts as long as my cheaper 1300.

You may be able to fit the 1800mah in there without rubbing the servo. I know that a 90mm won't fit though.

This is the only site i could find that had 48 Pitch Pinions that had a bore size smaller then 1/8th or 5mm
http://www.servocity.com/html/48_pitch_micro_motor_pinion_ge.html

Here are some that matched everything other then the bore size

You would think this would be a little simpler to find

I'm at a loss only drove my lcc 5 mins and it's spitting out axle grease out around the input shaft where the driveshaft connects any ideas?
