New SSD SCX10 axle housings

I got my housings and other goodies yesterday. Spent NYE in the shop. Man I LOVE these axles. The gears sit so much better in these than the stock SCX axles. Plus with a little LURC hardware they look the part as well.

What size hardware did you order for this?

Just logged on to RPP to order a set of SSD housings for my new G6 build.
Hesitated because I have a couple questions, ok maybe three actually.

1> will the stock servo mounting plate work or do I need the SSD plate ?
2> will my Vanquish lockouts, knuckles a c-hubs fit ?
3> I'm way too anal to get these things completely bashed up … will these diff protectors fit... Junfac Skid Plate for SCX10 Axle (Junfac diff protectors) ?

Thanks for your help with this.

1. You will need the ssd plate.
2. Yes youe VP bits will fit.
3. No it won't. Nor would you want to as they are good for 1 think only and that is getting stuck on rocks.

The only other item is pick up are the SSD steering links, or any set that's bent. The straight axial aluminum link will hit the diff cover before you get to full lock.

Dang it,didn't think about that, Will they even hit the stock plastic cover?

Yes they will make contact with the stock diff cover.

I just got my bent SSD steering links yesterday. I'll go out and snap a pic in a few so that you can see the difference.

I have the Vanquish links on my truck. Had to get them, the stock links won't work with the Vanquish knuckles.

Here's a link to my G6 build. Just finished it (mostly) haven't had a chance to run it outside yet because if the rain.

The other option is measure the old sttering link eye to eye then bent it slightly at each end (you won't need much) then measure again and add small spacers to get back to the correct width.
