New SSD SCX10 axle housings

The scale hardware does strip easily. I screwed the dif cover on with standard hardware first the replaced it with the scale hardware. This way I wasn't tapping the holes with the scale hardware and made it much easier with less of a chance of stripping the hardware.

I don't *think* I ran standard hardware through before installing the Locked Up RC scale hardware, but didn't have a problem with anything stripping. But that's a good idea to do that. I really like the look, though!

What size bearings do these require with FI spools and vvd'so and axial straight axles?

I'm just running all stock bearing sizes with my FI spools and VVDs.

All the Axial axle parts fit the SSD plastic housing like a glove, better way better than they fit the Axial housing! SSD tolerances are way better than Axial.

FYI use the axial m2 nuts with the FI spool as the heads are just a tad shorter. The hardware included with the FI spools makes contact just a wee bit.

Not sure about the locked up hardware but the SSD ones are a bit soft or under sized. I can tell there are some slack when I put the SSD special tools On them.

I just ordered a set of these. Brass tubes, VP Wraith knuckles, dlux ground xr shafts, xr/scx hybrid chubs, and grip fab lockers should round out the package nicely. The super cool thing about it is that I basically built and axial axle without using any axial parts, that is just so cool. Thanks SSD, these housings are amazing.

Where did you get the xr/scx hybrid c hubs?

I subbed to this thread to keep the axles fresh in my mind and my phone hasn't stopped alerting me lol....busy thread!

Have you built them yet? If so please post some pics!!

I went with all SSD c-hubs and knuckles with the ax10 unis. I'd love to compare the throw.
