New SSD SCX10 axle housings

It's really not a big deal. I was just wondering why. I'm sure there's more to it than than just making another part to sell. But even if that was it, the things only 5 bucks.

It's the hole spacing.. The truss would have had to have been huge. Then the people like me who don't use axle mounted servos would have hated it.

I just set the axial one on there, the holes are wider than the truss. Like you said, not a huge deal. 5$ or a drill bit and you are back in business.

That's the reason. I like to make things as small and scale looking as possible.
Sometimes this means slightly different new parts are required.

Thanks SSD, very happy with what I received and the price I paid for it. After putting cvd's in and making a new tie rod, the steering on this thing is exactly what I was after. By the way, those housings are taking a beating and not missing a beat. Took a few nasty spills so far, one that bent the frame and shattered a chub, no visable damage to the housing other than the normal scuffing. Thanks again for providing exactly what I wanted at a great price point.

Are those easier to put on than the Vanquish lockouts. It's gonna be a bitch when I have to get those things off. Unless there's some secret code I missed somewhere.

And getting the brass tubes in then puttin the C-hubs on, I doubt I'll ever get those things apart again.

However, got my first run on them today. Don't know if it was the SSD housings or the Vanquish VVD's (or both) but my G6 is far better than it was with the stock housing and the Axial CVD's.

He SSD housings are awesome ! Ordered up some stainless button head cap screws from Macmaster Carr today to dress em up a bit and keep the bolt heads from getting smashed.

Anyone running the aluminum diff cover? What do think of it? I'm considering getting a set.

I have D60's and brass tubes and VP vvd's, which do y'all suggest VP stage 1 or SSD chubs and knuckles and lockouts?

I like my diff cover, but I haven't used it yet... Just installed. I'll probably get another set for my other pair of axles

I like the aluminum diff cover. It felt like it weighed as much as the brass tubes I put in as well so that's a bonus.

Yes our rear lockouts are a much nicer fit.

The new HD SCX10/D60 CVDs are now ready. Photos next week.

There are even more new parts for the D60s in the works right now ;)

If I'm not posting much on here you can rest assured I'm always workng on new stuff...

SSD, they are making great quality products and actively producing what we ask for, plus they are much slimmer design giving more ground clearance under the lockouts and more scale appearance. "thumbsup"

Stainless button heads from Macmaster Carr are being delivered today. I'm ordering a set of Aluminum diff covers from RPP today as well.

Quick question; do the D60's change the steering geometry?

I noticed my Vanquish knuckles look to be angled down, I swear they were pretty much level to the ground with the stock housings. I also have a lot better steering than I did before.

I did both the housing upgrade and the VP VVD upgrade (from Axial CVD's) at the same time so I don't know if the steering improvement is from the D60's or the VVD's, or both.

Which do y'all prefer with D60's and VP vvd's. The SSD chubs and knuckles and lockouts or VP stage 1?

What CMS bracket do you guys think works best with these? The VP front bumper version or the HandBro/RC4WD one?

Don't forget the locked up one, looks super adjustable

I have the hand bros on one rig, and a welded one on another, the axle comes with the axle side, so really it's up to you I think?
