Modding my TRX-6 *Progression*

I really like those wheels with this body.

Never seen the alternate shock mounting points, very cool.

I have the same wheels on my life-size 86 corolla, too lol

That's a wicked Corolla, my man!

(the TRX-6 is looking really good, too...)

I 110% agree on the Corolla!!! That is sweet!!! I would so rock that!

Man talk about getting flashbacks of high school as soon as I saw that.

Please tell me you an Alpine 6 green button or Nakamichi period appropriate cassette deck in that!!!

Thanks! I wouldn’t have thought you guys would be interested in old school Japanese cars also. Haha. Benp, the corollas do not have the factory cassette players... but my Datsun has the original 8-track that still works! Off-topic from the TRX-6, but here’s a few of my other ae86’s and my 240z:

The white hatch has a built SR20, white coupe has a F20C, and the Datsun is fully restored.

Thanks, Benp!

Few more parts on order:
Treal aluminum middle axle housing
Yeah Racing aluminum rear axle housing
Yeah Racing motion steering wheel
Samix middle and rear brass portal covers w/ brake kit

What do you think you are at expense-wise on aftermarket bits so far?

Holy crap! I just added up all my receipts. Not including the TRX-6 itself (gift from the wifey), I spent roughly $2,600 in parts  I thought I only spent $1,000... boy was I wrong.

Yeah I figured you were getting up there haha. At a glance just the brass was at about $800 or so.

Some of that is 'required', most of it upgrades...I'm not judging, if my budget allowed for it I'd probably have a gold plated Vanquish lol. Good news is once you are done you should not have to throw anymore coin at it. I think that Honey Man guy spends about the same on his builds haha. They look like a Samix catalogue by the time he's done :)

I have that much in my whole RC setup, including my Ender 3:lmao:

wait wait wait, hold on a minute, you have not one, but TWO ae86's?!?!? Amazing car collection"thumbsup"

lol, Phildirt. I hope you are right that I don't have to spend too much more after everything I've already bought.

Scalelifenewbie, I mayyyy have a few more than 2... though the two white ones I've mentioned are my main builds. I may also have a few other cars I have yet to mention  I've run out of storage spaces..

I try not to look as well, I hide my receipt from my wife.
As mine is a lot more than that but no regrets as TRX6 is just an awesome rig. Thats also why I’m planning for a 2nd TRX-6 as a basher and the good thing is that i have all the extra parts from current truck from upgrading. :ror:
Good that you use different middle aluminum axle instead of Yeah racing as I heard there is some issues with that.

Lol. Dude don’t sweat it. I thoroughly appreciate your build.

I was thinking though.

You literally have all of the weak links covered for the front end.

You should dive in on one of the new Holmes 800 servos coming out.

My weak link is the axle housings for that. Last tearable point. Your housings, link mounts are all metal.

They’ll handle that. Or hopefully should.

Do it.

Keep everything coming. I enjoy your build /tinker pictures and the kickass vehicles from a more civilized age.

JCM5: I only went with the Treal middle axle housing and not the Yeah Racing because YR didn’t offer it without the built in c-hub. I didn’t know they were problematic. Guess I got lucky, but curious, what was the issue? And is it only their middle axle housing that’s affected?

Benp: I feel like my current 650oz is plenty for my needs at this time. I’m still a novice at rc and crawling, so perhaps I may save that possibility at a later time.

Thanks for following this thread. There will be more to come for sure! Still waiting for more parts to arrive in the mail.

I took the TRX6 out today. It has not ceased to amaze me of its capabilities. Check out my video if you have a minute or two and let me know what you think: https://youtu.be/isH_lY_Gsvo

Understandable.

It’s fun waiting for parts to arrive. Except when you did not realize that you ordered them from China. Lol.

Your Trx6 does awesome! That looks like a really fun spot! I am jealous of you guys being able to wheel in January. It’s -20F this morning.
