Michigan Roll Call

I would very much like one Shrek, and also need the 4 brass parts that go on the axel and into the hub that goes on the wheel, I hope you know what I mean, Jerry

slugbug what time were you there we were ther from 1:00-2:30 on the west side of the parking lot be hind the green fence.

Pelston is a very nice area and not real sure of rock hills in your area but fishermans island state park has some very large boulders and would be a very nice place to run. Havn't heard anybody from up ypur way, but that don't mean there isn't. I get up that way during the summer and usually have some rc trucks with me of one kind or another and sometimes have a boat. Take care, Jerry

Snow, Snow, and lots of snow, possible 5 to 8 Friday and a ft in some area's. Just watched channel 12. Got your snow tires on your clod? Might need um.. Good weekend to sit by the fire and "think" about the trucks, RC of course. Jerry

On thing that works well on servo's is Liquid Electrical Tape as this puts a rubber seal after it dries on the servo. This is what a lot of people put on there servos in boats as there is almost always a water problem in boats. Should work well for running in the snow too. Also looking for a clod and would like to trade for one. Anyone have anything? Jerry

i came up with a logo if we decide to start up a club, let me know what you think."thumbsup"

My eyes aren't good enough too tell if that is his truck or not but it should be. Don't think anyone has a stronger running truck yet, but there is a couple of other trucks in the group that might catch or pass him in the coming year. Jerry

You mean you're going to run better than you did last time? Thats alright, just running the 2.2 as have the e-maxx listed for sale. When you going to run? Jerry

Yah know I have to work on driving use to nutting it and now it goes really fast so need the crawl slower.

but I bet you don't get the stall that you did at the last GTG right?

have you tried running just one of the motors instead?

anyone have extras for sale? I want to build a tlt scale truck and I think I can get the "basics" for xmas...

tlt rockbuster from UH ($70)
airtronics bundle-rx/tx/esc/servo ($70)
generic nicad 6 cell ($8)

$150 is my limit and I have a graupner 600 for a motor and a charger (up to 10 cells nicad/nimh)

I saw the deal Tammies Hobbies has and wasn't sure if I should do that and build my truck then just somehow "find" another $70 for the bundle, or just get in a lot of trouble and spend another $100 (instead of $70) for a tq3 setup ($60) cheap hi torque ($15) and esc for $35... ?

I guess with winter I just want to get started, and I could always take the cheapo airtronics stuff to a basher or other projects later?

sorry for the long post, just lookin' for some feedback from some locals!

you should be able to find a tq3 in the 30-40 range if not cheaper. Also, you really don't neet the 3rd channel on a scaler unless you plan on a winch, 2 speed or future rear steer. $150 might not cut the budget unless you already have the body, tires, tie rods, trans, shafts, and others. good luck man I'm building my first scale and it's a been a fun build so far.

alittle tip is to buy the tlt from ultimate and sell off the tires, body and other unused parts but keep them in the bag as they are new. I did this and sold everything except the axle for about $25....equaling only $50 I paid out of pocket for new axles in the end.

thanks for the feedback. Ya, the only problem I forsee is not having something to run if I sell off all the other parts :)

I was thinking of doing the ultimatehobies.com setup (tlt-radio-bat = $150) just to have something to run.

I think I will slowly piece together a scale setup to put everything in? I was looking at rc4wd items and WOW! I love that punisher shaft, and the k2 chassis. I think I can do links on my own. I think I would also go with one of their R2 trannies... so there is like $180+ that I will need in the future :)

but if I piece together, it shouldn't be a problem I don't think.

If I wanted to just start building a scale truck w/ tlt.. get tlt pacakage and what to go to $150? and the $25 I sell the parts for could go towards a radio I guess?
