Losi Steering mod design

I'm seriously considering using lnc drivetrain for a scaler build. I would love to have the xr steering, but width is a issue because the class I want to run in. I'm going have to settle with stock width.

I would have been all over this if I hadn't picked up youngblood axles for my build. Keep it up great stuff here

If you decide you want to go that route let me know."thumbsup"

I just made a deal with 84yoda and this axle is headed to California for some testing.
I just hope this will encourage some of you losi guys to dust of those crawlers and get them back on the rocks. I know I have a new chassis, front and rear plates headed my way from Robbob and some cool parts from Dlux. Hope to show you some cool things you can do to the losi platform, scale and comp!!!!!"thumbsup""thumbsup"

I can't wait for it to show up and get it installed. Looking forward to finally having some solid steering angle. Its the only thing the losi lacks. People need to wake up and purchase this setup from you, because I doubt there will be another chance. I cant say it enough but thank you for putting in the love, sweat and tears for us losi guys. "thumbsup"

So sweet. I would definitely be keen on a set. Would love to revive the losi again. Already finding all the parts for it
Hey pajey, I'm glad your willing to dust of your losi and get it back on the rocks with it. I know you would do the axle justice!

I'm in for a set at xr width.

Thanks mrG I hope we can make this happen.

Ok, here is the deal. I'm going to build five more of these at the XR width at a price I've come up with. Three are already spoken for at a testers price (I'm a low budget builder so I don't have the $$ to just hand these out to test), and I don't think most of you would expect me to!
So if pajey and MrG get back to me with a PMs committing to the other two, that may or may not be all I do. So I'm not going to start a waiting list. We will do our best to make these happen if there is more interest, but right now I'm not seeing it.:roll:

Pretty sad people aren't jumping on this, I understand the losi isn't super popular but damn only 5 people so far? Wow.

It's a fabulous upgrade to the losi! The truth is that in a few years somone will dig up this post and pay threw the nose to buy these parts off one of us.

I've considered building a set of these axles in something closer to ar60 width with dlux knuckles blah blah. What I need to know is if one of the axles can have reverse rotation by drilling the case for the pinion shaft to come out the opposite side or if rotation is fixed. I gather these need to be greased pretty very regularly to keep the worm gears alive, is that really a must to grease them every run or can they go a few hours worth of use between lube sessions?

I'm spoiled by my ar60's being pretty much maintenance free so I'm not sure about making the jump to losi or something else I have in mind if I think they're too much hassle.

If you can't reverse the direction of the axle rotation couldn't you just use a 1:1 transfer case with 2 gears?

That's understandable. Why would you need to reverse the direction of the axle anyway?

Gearing differential between front and rear along with a reversal of direction on one axle to help eliminate torque twist. If I remember right these axles are geared super low so torque twist shouldn't be much of an issue but the offset gearing is handy.

All my rigs already run 4s.

That doesn't answer the question about being able to reverse them though. I'm also assuming an axial type axle shaft slips into the locker with some mods?
