Life of one YETI - Tom Frajer's Axial Yeti build log

Body post holes are drilled...

Connected new 3S pack to the charger and found that it shows same CELL ERROR. Probelm is not in the battery, but in the charger - or balancer. 2S pacls are charging balanced without problem. Both 3S packs end up with same error. I was able to turn off balancer and charged both 3S packs ubalanced. I will buy another charger and we will see. Anyway, I want to have two chargers so I can charge all my batteries in shorter time...

I' m curious how the color you choosed for it will came out on this Body. I think it will be kick ass.

Check your Balance Board regarding charging issue....

1000% convinced this is the best set up for heavy yeti, 15w in the damper, 25 w in the rears, blue top spring and green bottom. Butter smooth... night n day. Jumps speed bumps without nose dive effect. Handles 3' jumps without bottoming. Rhythm section on track, body stays almost level and suspension does the work, sick!

Been thinking about a dual shock setup but my only concern is the ahocks arent parallel with many aftermarket trailing arms. This doesnt create any binding? Seems like the shocks may be better aligned at ride height. This is the only thing holding me back...

had the same ideas about parallel and binding issues also... until i tried it ,just moved the rear shock back another hole and seems to be even smoother with less rear end hop ,maybe lost a fraction of traction at launch but the rear end comes around nicely in corners bettter in place of it, not near drifting just breaks loose without rollling over so much or tipping under power. two true shocks were too much no matter how soft the spring but one damper and one shock... miraculous.

Now I have problem :(
Steering is lagging. It is either faulty servo or receiver... will have to investigate this...
using BEC ? i actually took mine out and put a spektrum servo glitch buster in place of it and solved my problem, but... ended up it was just a bad bec and havent really found a need to re install one again.

3S battery problem turn out to be caused by defective balancing board. Solved - Im able to charge them correctly.

Still had no time to ivestigate what is causing glitches in steering. I highly suspect receiver as it shows same sympthoms as firt time I had this problem. It started few days after submarining. I waterproofet new receiver unit, but maybe not enough... I will do same test - swap my chnnels to control steering by throttle lever. I it prooves to be this cause I will buy either new receiver and waterproof it again and better or I will buy some waterproof receiver. I hope it is not defect on servo - if true I will stick with some 100% waterproof servo next time. Im not using external BEC - I use internal Mamba Monster X BEC.

Now to the body painting. I postponed this because of mentioned problems and I will start painting after my vacation - at the end of August.

Swapped wheel hubs. Now I use even shorter .350 on front and .475 on the rear. This should prevent any bend shafts. Even with .475 on front and .650 on the rear it was almost OK. And I still have those spare titanium shafts from CREEPERBOB...

hat same prob. if you look from the tyre side you see small gaps in the ring. i was able getting mine out with a small flat screw driver and a little hammer. very carefully forcing the broken bearing out switching sides . but i will also get a bearing retainer soon and bearings......
happy vacation

Just checked steering again before breaking into receiver box --- and it works!

I hope it will keep functioning :lmao:
to keep Rx absolutely waterproof put the Rx inside of a large baloon or best solution is in a condom and tie it off or rubber band the end around your wires, we use em in nitro boat racers all the time and works perfectly, lil hard to explain to folks that you need to use one on your ... rig. :lmao:
