Well, the time has come to build a new rig for 2012. The new year and the new chassis definitely has me excited for the upcoming season!

After careful deliberation, it was rather apparent that I HAD to have one of the BWD "Thing" chassis. Don has always had some of the coolest and best performing designs and I knew that I would not be disappointed in this one. I contacted Don a while ago about the Berg version and as soon as he had it ready, it was on its way to me!!

For starters, this kit is COMPLETE! The only thing needed is rod ends. The machining and fitment is top notch as usual and i know everything will fit together very nicely.

A big thanks goes to Don over at BWD for setting me up with this awesome chassis. I'll do my best to get everything dialed in and keep everyone updated on any new info or tweaks I can come up with!

OK, Here's the breakdown of my goodies!!!

BWD "The Thing" Berg version chassis
Titanium Upper link kit from BWD
Berg Axles

Well, the build got put on hold this morning as my computer decided to pick up that nasty Win7 Virus that's been going around here on RCC. After talking to Binaryterror for about an hour, I was able to get things back up and running on my laptop.

I have the chassis assembled and will have some pics up soon!!

Ok, first thing is to disassemble the old truck. It worked ok, but it was falling apart and definitely needed some attention. I bought this truck as it sits from another member here and never touched a thing on it except for the converting the steering from knuckles back, to knuckles forward and changing out the Kyosho shocks to big bores. No other tuning or maintenance was done on the truck, so it was definitely time for a teardown.

The BWD kit comes equipped with some 1/8" Titanium links, They were a tad bit long in the rears for my liking, so I added a bend in them to shorten them up to bring the motor in the rear down a bit. Worked nicely!

The same thing in front too, The links were a tad long. I normally like to clock my tubes at 20* and then roll my axle back so my motor is almost flat on the ground. I have to do some more works with bending the front uppers to get the proper length, but its going to work out just fine.
