GT3B Hack kit- Pre-order

Whew, tried to program this thing tonight, guess Im worse with computers than I thought. Cant wait for those instructions on how to program (dummy proof I hope). I couldnt even find a clear pic of which way the 4 pin harness hooks to the transmitter and st8 board. The pic on the rctech instructions has 6 different color wires for a 4 wire pigtail, and none of them go to the same place? Oh well, Ill just wait for the rest of the instructions, thanks for offering this by the way! The physical install was easy and straight forward, now for the programming part. I am not even sure I got the install program downloaded properly to my computer. I uninstalled it and will try again once the instructions are written."thumbsup"

There is a arrow on the plug its self, well on my ext.s, this little arrow is goes to the button side on the radio (the bnd, back, end buttons) and on the SB1 side on the programmer.

for the plug that goes to the radio the arrow needs to be close to the button side of the controller.
for the board the arrow needs to be near SB1.

has anyone with windows7 had luck programing ?

Then as in the rct guide, download and install the software, restart the computer, then open up st visual programmer (not developer), make sure your using the correct settings (shows you a picture on the rct guide). Now close out of it.

Plug in your radio into the programmer, then plug the programmer into the computer, now open st visual programmer, click file, open, select the firmware you downloaded, then click on the program drp down menu, then click program tab. Down at the bottom it should say programming complete and verified.

Now unplug the radio, turn it on. It' should say CAL then go to the calibrate menu. To calibrate.

Hold ST wheel max left for a second (ccw) and push enter (while holding), let the wheel center, and site for a second, then press enter, nor hold it far right (cc) let sit for a secong, and while holding press enter.

Now turn the knob ontop of the radio till the two displays (in the 7 segment display, on the left) now repeat the process above for the trigger.

Now all the 6 tabs on top should be un highlighted,

You can also calibrate your battery voltage with the 4 displayed...i haven't tried this yet, so refer to the manual.

:) So I can program it to dig, and then install a normal 3 pos switch. I could even switch the wires around to make shafty digs work if needed ( i have not reprogramed yet)

Wel the d/r switch, is actually two push buttons..."thumbsup"

But i don't see why you want to replace the d/r switch...it'llrun a shafty dig just fine.

downloaded the sttoolset again, restarted computer, followed your intrsuctions, still no luck. Is my transmitter supposed to beep when its plugged into the computer? Did you desolder the SB1 and SB2 tabs on the kits you sent out? Mine has already been un-bridged. I also get this message when I click "program" then "current tab"..... STVP GUI has stopped working, windows is checking for a solution. ... Not sure where to go next. Thanks for all the help.

Yes the beep is normal, because your powering the radio with 3 volts, its the low power beep., try the patch i posted

If that don't work run it as a admin.

Ok, the patch worked for me. THANKS! I went through the calibration steps like you posted earlier with no issue. Now just to figure out all the different programming settings, planning on using the third channel for a punk dig using the ch3 trim button. Thanks again!"thumbsup"

Dont get too excited.... Im sure Ill have more questions.:lmao:

Its not hard...long click rev, scrol to "3", click, scroll to ch 3, click, choose mom or another function (see manual) then long click.

That'll give you a basic 3 pos
