Big Red TTC, my 1:1 replica...sort of

After pics please! Great Driving!

Thank you!

Congrats on the concourse and driving last weekend Sam"thumbsup"

Seeing the first dent in person after the frame twister was cool. I have seen a few pics of it latern on in the TTC also...

Sure would like to see an "after" shot close up"thumbsup"

Thank you Devlin! Concourse really surprised me with all of the great rigs at event. To tell you the truth the whole damn weekend was a big surprise .

Problem is Sam drives too Damn good!

Shhhhhh, don't tell anyone

Ha Ha! no problem! i'm patient. Oh and congrats on the clean sweep Sam! That's awesome!

Thanks again, and thanks for offering to build the body in the first place. It really sets it apart from your normal rc.

...I know a good home. Just sayin...

Flattered yes, but this one is going to sit on my shelf :). I don't even want to wash it, looks so awesome right now. I took it through the frame twister before I left since I missed out on the logs due to poor driving and a broken tranny. Heres how looks right now.

this rig got my vote for best fab at swsc, after i picked it up and crushed the top haha , as if you needed more awards haha great driving!

That damn metal masher just taking these trucks over the top. That truck looks tougher now then it did with the lexan body. Wow, you did a great job and did a bang up job driving. Congrats. Hope to meet ya sometime. "thumbsup"

If it's taking up too much space ever...8)

Sam, I saw you run this rig on sunday. I was impressed then. Now I just now found this thread, and I'm even more impressed. Great work man. This is the real deal!

WOW!! you didn't finish the frame twister and still won the event! Awesome! I can't wait for the vid!

You very welcome. i enjoyed making the body and i am very pleased you were happy with it and that it worked so well for you.

It does look great all battered and muddy! it would be hard for me to wash it too!

This pic is great!

Looks like you got a front main seal going bad or a leak in the hydro lines for the steering LOL! :ror:

Nah, i just made the body. he is the one taking the truck over the top! Literally!

Yeah, didn't even get to the logs on the frame twister. I got all jacked up in pile of rocks and instead of winching it over I tried using lots of steering and throttle. A front tire grabbed and the top gear in tranny split in two:shock:. I then tried winching and then the 80lbs line busted so I was done. After it was over I went back and ran the same section and the logs no problem.

I ran the tank trap after MG200 who's car stopped in the water. I had a can of corrosion X HD and coated anything and everything just to be safe. The water was deep and it was my first time taking an RC in deep water on purpose. The HD stuff goes on like gorilla snot so it must be good:lmao:

Thanks, Im glad you like it. It couldn't of turned out any better and actually winning the TTC was something I never thought possible.

Here is the hardware. Also won concourse, still cant believe it:shock:

So good. Hopefully that body will patina nicely (rust). Congrats on the sweep.

Sounds like it was a lot of fun! I tend to be gentle on my drivetrain but i understand when your in the moment and get all hyped up, rational thinking goes out the window. :lmao: but hay, that's where the good footage comes from! LOL!

I might try the Corrosion X HD on my stuff then next time i hit the mud. i tried just WD-40 on my truck the last time i took it out and that seemed to work pretty good.

So good. Hopefully that body will patina nicely (rust). Congrats on the sweep.

I wish i could say yes but unfortunately it's made of aluminum, so no rust.

Thanks, every dog has his day:mrgreen:

It was actually more fun for me battling back from a bad first event. I usually have a pretty good knack for getting the car righted after a roll but not this time. The front end snagged and just popped the gear. But then again its really is all about putting on a good show for the people

I washed the truck and the corrosion X hd does not come off! I need to get some electrical cleaner because it is really nasty once it gets some dirt and mud in it.

Im already itching to build another version of this rig, more of a comp crawler to replace my current class 3. I may need some more metal mashed ;-)

Got some 1:1 wheelin in out at Goldendale and just couldn't help myself. It was dusty as all hell and ended up locking up the tranny or motor, not sure which yet.....too lazy to tear it apart just yet.

Got some new shoes too. Big and sloppy mud slinger XLs.

Great looking rig. Funny you posted pics of the mudslingers, I was looking into them and was wondering how they look. How did they perform?

They are very soft and the tall lugs fold a lot on the rocks which requires wheelspeed to make it up some stuff that other tires can simply crawl. They are a big sloppy tire that hooks and grabs when you least expect it. In loose terrain the are the best tire I have ever had. They make this truck even more fun to drive and look awesome. A bogger just belongs on this truck"thumbsup"

DAMN Sam! that thing just keeps looking better and better! "thumbsup"

I know it! The body is holding up nicely, I think its about as beat as it can get.

Is it bad that this picture is now my computer's wallpaper?

Mine too, Im a bit biased though. Thanks

Looks so sick. The Slinger xl's look great on there too.

Thank you, RC4WD must of been listening to my prayers:lmao:

Old Fords at play today

I love it! Keep the pics coming!

Wow! those slingers look wicked with the lugs trimmed!

I mean to, had a bunch of pics from today that didn't turn out unfortunately. With the tires tuned up they hook up something fierce! I need to get some close ups of the body for you, its looking pretty haggard these days.... in a good way of course!

You need some scale band aids for that beast.

Been driving this a lot and I think its well beyond band aids:mrgreen:. I have the lexan body on now to preserve the metal body for our next comp or two. Try and get a pick of it later.

love this build!!! one of my favorite ttc trucks ever!!! love this body style ford awesome job

Thanks man! Im an old pick up kind of guy but growing up around the 66 makes it my favorite.
