The BHSN Crawler Club Fleet

Wow! Where did you find so many AX10s?

I think high school rc programs are such a good idea!
I got lucky and found a lot of 5 on FB marketplace, lol. It was definitely a hassle to get the though. Had to pay through an eBay auction the guy had started a day before for them, but still went to go look since we were local. Went to look at 5 trucks, came back with 9 of them, a couple decorative rocks, a bunch of NiMh batteries/chargers, and like 15 old transmitters (most of which still work). Definitely a lucky find lol.

I agree with that, it's a great way to get more people into the hobby! I just wish the schools were more supportive of that idea. I've talked to like 5 different teachers, and also have posters up across the whole building but no luck yet. Mom knows some people though so she said that she'd try to pull a few strings and see what she can manage.

Small update:

Apparently one of my posters found its way to the right person. I had put one up by the front door/office in hopes people would see it, but it got taken down the other day. The principal pulled me out of class today to talk about it and said he'd be willing to help me out. Hopefully everything goes well from here.

Got the truck all shined up and ready to bring in tomorrow. Hopefully all goes well.

I'll be honest, this thing is definitely growing on me. Of all of the trucks I have, this is probably one of my favorites. It's full of character, and performs extremely well. I'm definitely keeping one or two of these after I graduate. I've also been experimenting with the idea of trying to replicate the stickers on this truck and making new ones, as well as potentially trying to make a mold for the body. Could be fun.

Also decided to put a little RCC sticker on the back for fun, lol.

The chat went well. Seems like it's finally going to happen. I'm gonna meet with him after we get back from break and discuss the details further.

Drove the truck around a bit during study hall today, was fun.

At least it was... the old AS-2 finally bit the dust. Lost steering, grabbed the truck, and felt the servo burning up. Smelled it too. Yippee.

Managed to pull it out. I'm probably just gonna get a cheap Iniora servo and call it a day. Might get some for the rest of the trucks too since all of them have the original servo and I doubt any of them have much life left.

Installed a brand new servo that I had sitting around, super nice. Back up and running in a matter of hours! Lol.

Also swapped the steering linkage from truck #3. Figured this one would get more use out of it because of the newer servo (also was worried it could break the plastic one).

I want to see more of the rocks (plastic maybe) in the last picture and where you got them from. Pond pump covers, sprinkler covers?

I wish I had an answer, I'd honestly love to know myself (would kinda like to get more lol). They're just some hollow plastic rock piles that came in the same RC lot as everything else. I use them as a course to test my trucks whenever I finish working on them, lol.

Makes me think of paper mache over Styrofoam pieces soaked in glue.

They cover sprinkler valves, pumps, or just straight out decoration for the yard. You usually have to order them from the stores but they come in multiple sizes, shapes, and color. Even rigid pond liners flipped upside down can work as terrain. Sand and glue to finish for grip or the plastic is too slick. Your look nicely textured though. Kyosho made something similar and smaller stacking ones for a little while for the mini and micros.

I love seeing these old school Scorpions. So cool! They look great too. Nice work! (y)

Hey, you have google images? Try that
Some people aren't familiar with Google reverse image search, but it is wonderful. Super useful!
