Ballistic17's Vrd Straight axle

This is the next Vanquish kit that I want. I wished the VRD Carbon had been straight axles from the start. Just wish this would come with carbon frame rails rather than plastic.

The vrd BK has aluminum rails, just finished in black.

Both vrd kits are a good value imo. If only the straight axles came with machined ring/spool.

Well I think I have the VP bug. Picked up my 3rd rig in about a year's time. This time the new Vrd straight axle kit. Also ordered some other goodies for it too. View attachment 506951

Look forward to seeing this come together

Oh yeah aluminum. My bad. I think the VRD kits are great values as well.

Yep, I now have the VP bug! Looking forward to seeing which direction you take this.

So glad to see that VP finally put out builder's kits. Now an easy way to start custom builds!

Got a little done tonight. Axles together and the start of the chassis. Thinking of running the Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster V3 Revolver ESC/Motor Rock Crawling 540 Combo (1800kv). Thinking it will be a good fit. Have a couple different wheel and tire combos I'm planning on trying one the body is mounted.

So I wanted to wrap this body. Couldn't find a Cliffhanger cab only wrap. So ordered the FreqEsKinz Cliffhanger wrap and make it work on just the cab. I think it turned out pretty good. Had to use some camo for behind the cab.

Got some more goodies for this build. Got a Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster V3 Revolver ESC/motor combo. And picked up some bumpers Cliff McCrawl Industries bumpers. Which look amazing. And as a free gift from him I got a Vrd mounted chassis brace. Still waiting for my servo to show up. Hopefully soon.

Got the final items for the build. Grabbed a Nsdrc Scaleparts Rs500B for the steering and a Cliff McCrawl Industries vfd chassis brace/winch mount. Which I'll be getting the Rs400 low pro winch.

Such a sweet looking truck! I think I commented on this on FB asking you how much of a PITA it was to install that wrap. Didn't realize it was you/this truck until now.

Why does this need a chassis brace?

that body with those orange wheels is killer.
I was thinking of getting a wrap but how easily do they scratch off from rocks?

Thanks. I remember your comment on FB.

Not 100% sure. I seen the servo winch / chassis brace on a post. On this build it doesn't use all the normal pieces to keep weight down and is kinda flexible without those parts.

Thats good to know. If I get one maybe I'll paint the body brown from the inside then when the wrap scratches through I can weather the outside to simulate rust.
