B-MOW's SCX10 III JT Gladiator Trail Warrior

Spending today in the garage working on the JT. Shot some black paint on the Club5 Racing hinges.

Bought another Yeah Racing LED light bar. I installed this same light bar on my JLU and like how it fits the body. Added some wire loom and black heat shrink to hide the wires.

Picked up a KYX rear bumper with tire carrier. It comes as pictured with an aluminum hitch and LED lights. This will be my first time running a spare tire mounted on a rear bumper. It’s not something I would normally add to a rig, but since the Gladiator is going to be an overlander, I thought it may look good on there. We’ll see how long it last before it gets taken off or ripped off!

In order to get the rear bumper tucked in as far as possible so that it was hanging to far out the rear end I had to cut a notch in the top of the bumper.

Here are the before and after pics.

Also picked up a set of tow shackles to add to the front and rear bumper.

Hoping to have the body put back together today and have some pics to share later on.

I printed the hinges, but have only cut the body out for a couple so far. It's nerve wracking trying to make sure you cut perfectly so it looks good!

I thought about getting the Knight Customs hinges, but I really didn't want to cut the body and take the chance of screwing it up! The KC hinges do look good and look more scale though!

I decided to take the easy way out again and use the Club5 hinges. I really liked how they looked on my JLU. The only downside was fiddling with them microscopic screws!

I ran that rear bumper on my G6 truck...and it got ran hard. Bumped, banged and dragged it across the rocks for 3 straight hours, it held up like a champ.

That is good to know!"thumbsup" I was kinda worried how it would hold up. As I was cutting the notch in it, I noticed how brittle the alum felt.

I've been thinking about taking the Gladiator to Beat The Creek G6 in Kentucky next May. It is 2 full days of fun and rig torture! Should be a good test for it!

Finished putting the body back together last night. I'm still waiting on a few parts and decals to finish the look. The parts that I ordered are still MIA! Ordered them on Dec 15 on eBay, parts shipped next day from California and today the tracking says they are still in California "In Transit"! I know that USPS is swamped and extremely backed up, but WTF, I was hoping they would have at least left the state of origin! I just hope that they are still on the way and not lost somewhere!

I bought and 3D printed the Knight Customs JT Gladiator files off of myminifactory. The parts printed great! I sprayed Rustoleum Truck Bed Liner on the fender flares and also sprayed the bed liner on the stock sliders. It probably will get scuffed off, but I think it looks great now! Sprayed slate gray on the roof tent and topped it with a matte clear to help protect the paint.

Here is a look at the rear bumper. It fits fairly well after notching it and sliding it in as far as it would go. Luckily I didn't have to trim any of the body to make it fit.

I had this Pro-Line spare tire cover in my parts bin for awhile. I won it an event back in 2019 and have been waiting to find it a home. Instead of using a 1.9 tire, I used a glue-on stock 1.9 wheel that came with my TRX-4 Chassis Kit. I used E6000 to glue on an old foam I had laying around onto the wheel. It fits perfectly inside the cover and weighs very little.

Here is a good look at the Yeah Racing LED light bar and Club5 Racing door hinges. I added a tiny bit of E6000 to the back side of the hinges before I screwed them in to help hold them on in case the screws happen to fall out. The tiny screws did tighten down well without getting stripped, so I'm fairly confident that they remain in the hinge.

Hoping that my decals that are on order come soon so that I can get the body all wrapped up.

Dang, I'm not real big into the scale side of things, but this rig could steer me in that direction. This looks great!

Looking good! Needs a wife and kids inside it :)

Thanks man!"thumbsup"

Once I get the seatbelts installed, I get the kid's car seats buckled in and take the fam camping!:)

Damn, this looks really good. It REALLY makes me want to order one. Just wish they had a kit version vs rtr.

Thanks Cyclist!"thumbsup"

A kit would be nice. I'm more of a kit builder, but my recent rigs have all been RTR's. The first thing I do is strip them completely down and rebuild them making sure everything is installed properly and the right amount of grease is put in. In the end, it is as much fun as buying a kit!

Thanks MaX!"thumbsup"

Here lately I've been getting into the more scale looking rigs. I've have spent way to much time this past year on YouTube watching cool scale rigs doing cool scale trail runs! And having a 3D printer makes it even easier to print all the scale goodies that I want!

That's an absolutely fantastic job of accessorizing and painting, kinda up-ends the idea of painting your RC to match your real rig - I'd be wanting an actual Gladiator painted to match your Axial!

Looking mighty fine!!! Great work "thumbsup"

Thank you!"thumbsup" Appreciate it!

Great looking rig you recently sold to Harley. Just caught his latest Friday Night Live vid on YT. I must have missed your build thread here on RCC, so I'll have to go and check it out!

Thanks durok!"thumbsup" It has been fun adding the little details to it!

This was actually my way of building and painting this JT to match my imaginary 1:1 Gladiator sitting in my driveway.:ror: I just wish I could afford the real thing!

Damn man, that looks so bloody good! Great job and attention to detail, very tastefully done!

Thanks dmac!"thumbsup"

I love the scale looks of these new 10.3 Rubicons! Axial has done a great job on the body details making it easy and fun to add the detailing to make these look like their real big brothers.

Your JT looks great too! You've added some great scale details to yours!

Looks awesome B-MOW! Great work and nice details....one of these days I am going to try my hand at a true scale truck.

Love the garage too, especially all of the Buckeye decor "thumbsup"

Knocking it out of the park brotha! I'm working on my tiny trucks still, but I'm turning my attention to my 1:1 Tacoma build right now. Just had a trucking company drop off a pallet of parts this afternoon. Still be tinkering with my tiny trucks though! I'm gathering piece's to do a new body for my 10.3 JLU

You've got a great base to work with the PRO and Ultra. Just add some scale bits to them and you'll have a couple of great looking and performing scale trucks!

It's cool to have the scale garages! Makes taking scale pics a lot easier! Yeah, gotta have the Buckeye decor! I'm hoping the Buckeyes and Alabama get to play Monday night. Sound like the Covid may delay the game!:x

Very well done BMow. This came out excellent! Super clean.

Thanks TB!"thumbsup"

It's been a fun build! Sure is nice having the 3D printer to add all the cool scale details!

Hoping to throw some dirt on it soon if I can ever get a decent day to take it out!

Been wondering where you've been. Hey, working on 1:1 trucks sounds like fun! I don't have a full size to build up, so the tiny ones will have to do!:)

Can't wait to see your new JLU body! I've been wanting to get another JLU to put on my VS4-10 Origin. I have already printed out the Knight Customs body mounts, sliders and inner fenders to covert it. Just need to come up with the funds to get the body and accessories to complete it.

I actually have an Element with IFS that I have been (very slowly) working on making a scale build out of. Was originally my COVID project early on during lockdown, then I got distracted by the 10.3 release and the Vanquish twins :lmao:

Going to let the wallet cool off for a bit, then get back into some RC modifications.....also have a cool idea for the Pro "thumbsup"

Let's hope that game happens on Monday....I am already making plans for my gametime meal! :lmao:
