5Th Dimension Sucker Punch... My "The Green Machine"

Decided to use my U4RC wraith as a donor rig to build another sporty rig, with nationals coming up & hopefully help grow our local club 2.2s class (BLC). So, of course I got in touch w/ 5th Dimension in hopes of getting my hands on another Sucker Punch chassis. My 1st SP rig simply worked SUPERBLY... (I REALLY miss that rig).

A few weeks later I was fortunate enough to receive this great chassis in the mail. Chassis came pre-assembled & packed very well. Getting the chassis pre-assembled is NICE added touch. "thumbsup"

If interested you can pick up a 5D Sucker Punch chassis link below.
You can even pick color of choice

Cboggs posted some nice pictures of this chassis, however pics certainly don't do this beauty justice...looking absolutely stunning in person.

5D did a killer job updating this chassis by milling pockets in the skid to lighten it. The skid link mount pockets have a very tight fit "thumbsup" with 2 new hex style cross braces for you body mounts.

Thanks for the writeup so far. Looking forward as well to what ya come up with. Hit me up if ya need anything to keep the green machine well...green. "thumbsup"

Thanks guys,
So, with this build I'm trying to use parts I have or can buy used/cheap. Digging in my parts box found these links rears bolted up no problem @ all. The front lower links took a little more work, I had to put 2 bends in each link to keep them from binding. I need to make/buy front upper links.

Axles on the rig are Ar60's OD/UD axial gears, D-lux servo mount, W/7950 servo & VP scale knuckles & chubs. Axles came off my U4RC Wraith....

COOL!! More sportys for next season!!

I'll have to bring mine out of retirement, and build a 2.2S tank for Jess to drive

Like most using AR60 axles I was worried about them being to wide. So I spent some time on my rear axle today using XR10 plastic lockouts & modding the inner axle shafts. I cut 9mm off the tang & filed new flat spots into axles to fit into locker. It was an easy cheap way to shave 18mm off the rear axle.
with this mod in combination with DE wheels and RC4wd hubs (not pin style).
rear width is a hair over 10" outside to outside of tires.

After

This show the difference between the Wraith & XR10 locker

It's alive! Did a little couch crawling yesterday.. I managed to get esc, receiver, bec & a nest if wires on the mounting plate. I'll eventually shorten servo wires.

I went with transparent Green basic rattle can paint job. I was hoping paint job was going to be more see-thru to show off the green Sucker Punch chassis. Looking forward to getting some drive time on this new rig.

I think you have the front rovers on backwards, but other than that it looks great. What is the rtr weight?

Thanks, that's how I run my rover's. It's a pig 4.411lbs. Looking @ pictures again looks like my rear rovers are backwards... good eye.

So I have an older sucker punch chassis in black, what is the difference with the new ones? Just the color? Material? They look very similar...
