2011 TCS Crawlers East Coast Championships

Thanks for all the kind words from everyone. The STAFF and I worked on over the last 3 months, and we had lots of idea and plans to execute. Unfortunately the we suffered some set backs immediately. Most of the STAFF was on the mountain, and ready to start setting up and executing the pan by 1:00 local time. However Mother Nature had other ideas, and we lost 8 hours of prep time.

Lost in the shuffle to get the event going was some details that should have been caught.

We had course builders out doing their job while tech inspections, drivers meeting, and judges meeting was being held. (They missed some important information). I didn't get to inspect the courses to insure the were ALL "DOABLE" because I was a trying to get things organized.

Under the circumstances we did the best we could to get the drivers on the courses so everyone including the Finals was done by dark. We did it with about 5 minutes to spare.....not bad considering we had a 8 hour hole to dig out from.

I apologize if I was short with anyone at any time...I was just doing my best to insure the overall success of the event.

This was hands down the best event i've been to yet!8) Thanks to Fish, scattman, harley, and all the other guys behind the scenes. The food was banging!! Thanks to all the judges who braved the rocks all day to judge the courses were awesome! the competition was exceptional. SPECIAL THANKS GOES TO THE STAFF

Everyone always talks about the staff. Many of the Staff had MULTIPLE Jobs. Here is what the did, and the deserve lots of Thanks!

Aaugman (Mike Kamber) Took on the role of 2nd in command, and was a major part of the ECC brain. Mike was there almost everyday listening to and giving ideas to make ECC run smooth. He also did All the printing of the course markers, give away stickers, and the AWESOME banner we did not get to hang due to time and the WIND.

Destroyer (Cris Higberg) Provided alot of the TRANSPORTATION of ECC gear to the comp, as well as the Crawler Hauler at the event. I am sure it save me a couple 1,000 steps. I am sure it save some others as well. He set up the raffle tent, ran most of the raffle, brought wood for the smoker, and help with MOST of the tear down. Last but not least Judged on Sunday.

Colby (Colby Johnson) He and his gang ran The Rox Box money climb, and brought in over $100 in attempts. Good Job!

Kinson (Kinson Cook) Organized everything "Spread Sheet" the data he managed made sure we got enough t-shirts ordered, labels printed, and drivers packets prepared. He entered ALL the data...some of twice due a GOOGLE DOC's hiccup (still a mystery) I estimate he had over a 1,000 entries over a 5 hour spread with constant interruptions. I am aware of only 2 or 3 mistakes. 1 was a tiebreaker sorting error the other was due the fact we wanted finals to start on time.

Speedracer19 (Donnie Jackson)
Printed +700 Score-Sheets, and delivered them on time for the event. He also Judged his 3rd ECC in a row. He is one of my most consistent GO TO GUYS. It doesn't matter if its a Major event like ECC or just 12 guys comping locally he has been there everytime for the last 3 years;-)

Mini (Mini Amil) Does all my graphics work for the last 2 years, and usually with in HOURS of my request. He created the current ECC logo, T-shirt design, and final score-sheet layout.

Wheelin King (Ben Cheney) Proved ground transportation to ECC guests, and helped Destroyer wit the raffle at crunch time.

JWEIMER (Jeremy Weimer)
Is always there to do what ever when ever. He carries the big rocks when we want build NEW lines at comps. I didn't ask him to do much this year, but he was CLUTCH this year when I needed to get gear back to Atlanta. I am penciling him in for a staff position in 2010:shock:

Scattman (Matthew Tiller) Thank You for bringing the Smoker and motor home at your own personal expense. You kept everyone feed and provided home base to the event.

THANK YOU!

KennyJ (Kenny Johnson) Thank You for being Matt's right hand man. Every time I looked up I saw you running extension cords, picking up trash, pulling meat off the grill, or cleaning something. I don't think people realize how much you did.

Harley (Josh Theide Thank you for your 2 cent before the comp, doing the Drivers Meeting, helping with Final raffle and awards.

Harley also took over the scoring duties on Sunday for Super and 1.9"thumbsup"

EvilTwin v2 (Carey Baird) Evil Jerk! Almost says it a all. Carey donated +30 pounds of chicken to feed the judges as well as who knows what in other meat products. After all that he won 1.9 on Sunday. Just proves good things happen to good people.

Please Thank these guys, buy them a beer, or give the a discount when you can the deserve it "thumbsup"

Thanks a lot guys! The staff and the fact they can pull it off how they do is what will keep me coming back along with the great competition and vendors of course!

Let's throw a thanks out to KennyJ as well. He greatly helped with the prep of the food, serving food, and anything else I needed over the weekend. Only thing he didn't do was let me place in front of him. :ror:

Thanks bud. "thumbsup"

And a big thanks to all you who left me a little something in my tip jar/pocket. That made a nice dent in the fuel/food bill for the weekend and I really appreciate it. "thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"

Holy crap what a weekend....

This is always the event I plan to go to just to relax..... never happens! Fish runs his events better than any event I have ever attended. This year made for some deep holes to dig out of. The weather was a bitch but we got up to the top at first light and got courses set, started drivers meeting, teched all the rigs and had people running within minutes of what Fish was aiming for.

One word - Gridiron :ror: (You needed to be there to understand)

XRRA_TJ, Rockshow, Wheelinking, and a couple others who's screen names are escaping me stayed up until about 5AM Saturday night/Sunday morning having an absolute blast. We also ended up waking a couple people up, Sorry 66Bronco

I actually had a blast setting up the finals course for 2.2 and 1.9. Nick drove his ass off on the 2.2 course and almost finished it. The 1.9 course was probably as much if not more fun and I hate those stupid little things! Great driving to all you drivers, you all impress the hell out of me!

I hung out with a ton of you guys over the weekend and I know I am terrible with names but you are all the reason I come to these things. If I flew to an event that far away to 20 mins of drive time I would be crazy. Scattman, I love you.

Fish, Dave (John), Ben, Lars, William and Mini <-- Thanks for the travel entertainment both to and from the event. The ride home was a god damn riot.

Lastly, did you see how many damn Futaba radios were there?!!?! :flipoff: It would have much easier to count the non-Futaba radios!

Thanks everyone!!

Let's throw a thanks out to KennyJ as well. He greatly helped with the prep of the food, serving food, and anything else I needed over the weekend.

Sorry my mind is still a little mushy from the weekend. I updated my post. I am sure I am still forgetting some one

Great event! I had so much fun just talking with everyone, enjoying the environment we were in. LRC is probably my favorite spot in the USA I have found. The playing with toy trucks made it even better! I chucked a few rocks, heckled a bit, drove my rig off a cliff...:lmao: Got to bash around with the EB, I need to bring more scalers next year, that place is epic for scalers! Good times!

Great job everyone who helps out, I personally know how good it is to have a great crew.

I hope ECC is a repeat at LRC! Counting the days!

I tried to make sure all of the judges got some chicken and/or pork and delivered some drinks and food to some of the courses. I would have gladly done more to help out, but wasn't sure what to do as everything seemed to be already taken care of and well planned.

If anybody wants the recipe for the jerk chicken/pork, it's up on RCC somewhere.

This is the most fun I've ever had with an RC. Anyone who missed out this year needs to start saving for 2012.

With that said here is my list of people to thank and I'm sure I'll miss a few:
FISH, Scattman, KennyJ, Destroyer, Aaugman, Wheelinking, Speedracer19, Kinson, Colby, Sven, Turbofest, Del Monte , Del Montes, Nitrojeff, Eddie (C.I.) , Harley, Dave (John) , ALL the other judges I missed and the Vendors/Sponsors who made this event possible. It was also a honor to add so many new people to my extended family. I can't wait till we comp again it truly was an honor to learn from the best:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Wow what a weekend!

Thank you Fish for an epic event and even better hospitality, you sir are the man, the steaks put the weekend over the top! Please thank your wife for the killer cooking. I cannot wait for next year.

Thank you Mini for the ride to and from the comp as well splitting the room, it was great to meet you and add another to the RC family!

Lars and John thanks for letting me tag along in the airport and showing me how good my future chassis works.

Harley, you sir are a riot! It was great exchanging stories and bs'ing with you.

Scattman, your food was mouth watering! Best I've ever had thank you.

It was also great to finally meet my other two drivers 4xford and dickyT. Congrats on the super finish Shelby!!

Thank you to all those who ran and supported my products this weekend, without you guys attending this event wouldn't have happened. I enjoyed putting names to faces and watching some amazing driving in the process, you learn so much more by watching others drive and also listening to those coaching them.

I met and spoke with tons of people an every conversation was one I enjoyed, I've never experienced this in any other side of the hobby.

All in all, ECC 2011 will always be a comp I remember!
