1/6 Wraith/Nylint TJ Jeep + scale quad

I have 2 sets of the tallest 1.9'' Super Swampers with C.I. Wild Deuce Foams on my Honcho and Toyota SCX10 Truggy's and I'm using Wraith shocks that

I changed the rod ends to give me a 100mm to raise the body little and add a little clearance to the wheel wells

I like the tires, there a pain in ass to mount and I had to use the RC4WD special inner bead lock rings

To mount the tire on my RC4WD steel Wagon wheels , and on my Hutchison bead locks on the Honcho

the Gearhead ones on the Toyota were easy cause the bead fits in the groove nicely

I took a couple pics of the rims and tires

" further blah blah blah I'm not quoting "
Welp...

you shouldn't be allowed to show off yer screw ups
in my thread...
at least not without expecting some invaluable critique from me ;-)

Either you suck at seating a tire's bead...
or yer wheel doesn't hold the tire's bead fer chit !?

fix that would you :flipoff:

Dam it I thought this was show and tell

I guess not

Well excuse me

The rims are a pain in the ass and so are the tires

but I might see what I can do

needs to happen ;-)

Finally got my matching spare tire mounted...

and a better public communication system  8)

I really need dismantle and paint the roll bar - body
but I'm having too much fun operating it ;-)

Looks good "thumbsup" What you might consider getting, is some of that Diamond Plate material from RC4WD to protect your plastic body on the corners, since you mentioned it was a softer plastic. Looks like you're getting some pretty deep gouges in them.

...good idea

I'd like to plate both side panel's... fully
Not sure about the diamond plate tho'
I'm not much of a fan of that look.

But metal plate laminated onto the side panel(s) has gotta happen
eventually.

Just installed a new Savox SA 1230 SG
into my SCX-10 Honcho

The 1230 turns 2.2's very well

so's you can imagine
how well it turns the Honcho's
wee 4.30" 1.9 tires !?

Excessive no doubt
but control is swell ;-)

Now I just need a new TX
as the previous unit has failed internally
and is to blame for my operational glitching issue

---------

So I did... call me a glutton for punishment.
But I really liked my prior GT3-C ('cept 'dat mode/set wheel cntrl.)
and so purchased another.

welp, 3rd time is the charm it is said !?

this round... orange/black to match my TJ's bling  8)

I had one of those that I bought on here that was hacked and upgraded

By the previous owner, not sure if it was done right and working correctly

Cause I nothing but problems with the radio

I met a couple other R/C guys at CKCR, plus the guy behind the counter

Owned GT3C's and they all had problems with my radio, and could not get to work properly

I sold it, too some one on here, they un-hacked the radio and removed the upgrades

and the radio went back to normal and it worked fine for him

So watch out if you hack it or upgrade

Cause it can screw it up

Not gonna hack it... just don't need all those bells/whistles.

I've owned 2 GT3-C's
both had/have intermittent function issues with the mode/set wheel.
The one that failed was actually the better of the two.

But both were purchased used...
So who knows how they were treated before I purchased them.
Hopefully a new purchase will find my luck improved.

Regardless... they are cheap to purchase...
and I like their feel in my hand.
plus when they work... they work good.

So hopefully the 3rd round is the charm !?

Guess I'll know more... whence I know ;-)

Because I like the HH's Expt 35T motor in my TJ build a bunch
I had to pony up for another, to install into my Honcho.

These motors work great when utilizing the HH's BR/XL "thumbsup"

I also decided to power both my Savox SA1230SG servos
utilizing CCBEC(s) along with the HH's "Y" adapter(s).
Thus letting the BR/XL(s) internal BEC(s) power up the RX(s).

]

So now both of my crawlers will be sporting the same e components
and this was an easy decision, as they will now be interchangeable.

And this will also make it easier for me to determine any e faults
that might occur.

HH's e components are swell quality/smooth running 8)
and the BR/XL being CC's Link compatible
makes it even better "thumbsup"

------

oh and these too...
impulse purchase 'cuz they were $ 91.00 to my door.
and 'cuz my AR60 axle(s) are still sporting their original plastic Chubs/Sknuckles/Lockouts*

now I'll need purchase some "Beef Tubes" for the AR60's ( < edited: so kgb424 stops whining)
just to make their install worthwhile.

* something to know...
while the XR10 Chubs/Sknucles fit and work as the originals
the XR10 straight axle alloy lockout(s) do not.
And so the correct lockout(s) will need be obtained.
I purchased some chinese mfgr'd alloy lockouts that do.
cost me another $ 12.99 and a wait for that slow boat outta china.
But should work as good as any other for less coin.

Unfortunately Beeftubes.com is out of stock momentarily.
^ said a few days... but that has gone by and still out of stock
all my other parts have arrived... But I can't install them without the tubes.
So I opted instead for a set of the
AsiaTee's / BoomRacing Kronik tubes.
Claim is that they're SS... tho' I'm not holding my breath.

~just more coin tossed into the pit(s)~ 8)

So thought I'd post up some pictures
showing my electronics/set up.

My e component selections:

Holmes Hobbie's WP BR/XL ESC
HH's 35T expert TM motor
HH's motor plug wires
HH's RX by-pass "Y" adapter
Savox SA1230SG HO/HT Servo
Servo extension harness
Castle Creations adj. BEC @ 6v
Dean's plugs most every where
FlySky GT3-C TX/RX
Hobby People 3s duals = 4400mah

and lastly...
labeling the HH's RX "Y" by-pass.
5 second install (plug n play) ;-)

crawls well at slower crawling speeds...
plus can be geared for some wheel/tire spin/speed too.

it really comes down to how the drive train is geared
dependent on what the user feels works best for them.

I've used a 27T as well a 55T motor thru this rig.
IMO the 35T motor's performance lay somewhere in the middle.

I like this particular set up so much...
That my SCX-10 Honcho now sports exactly the same e components.
Tho' I may need gear a little taller due to the Honcho's wee 4.30" tires.

I probably wouldn't select or use a 35T if running 2s. (boring/lacks torque)
But the fact that I can move up to 4s or 6s...
gives me a monster torque woody !?

but a 3s doesn't break things as easily or as often ;-)
while 4s or 6s probably could !?

So I've had and used my Honcho for over two years
and with lots of mah run thru.
It's lately been revamped with improved electronics
and so I thought I'd share that.

Figured here was acceptable
since this thread is somewhat cluttered anyways.
And because my Honcho now includes the same
e components as my Nylint build.
Only real difference is the trans. gearing.
and smaller diameter tires on the Honcho
4.30" 1.9 tires/wheels = 87s/17p

--- DMG AR60 skid plates ---

I like them a bunch...
well... 'cept maybe the bottom side button screw(s).

Not sure why that screw isn't counter sunk (!?)
But will likely do that when I find opportunity.

Very stout (steel) construction... simple two minute install !

notice the front and rear DMG skids do not share the same design

Still waiting for the SS Kronik axle tube inserts and the alloy lockouts
but I'll suppose coming from china takes awhile.

edit: hah... just showed up in today's mail "thumbsup"
