Tanis's Axial SWX build Ol' Reliable

Now thats a interesting marriage you've made there Nathan. "thumbsup"

Much nicer dig it won't break like your axle so go ahead and abuse it. :ror:
Thanks Norm8)

The steel internals do give extra peace of mind, although I've never broken an aluminum piece yet."thumbsup"

I agree about the piece of mind I just installed the same unit myself my old internals were a little worn and that's not going to happen now.

Wild ride you've got going on here and I love the fact that your going back to your roots and being creative about it I know you'll make it work for you. "thumbsup"

Very nice Nathan! I've been considering give the SWX a shot as well. Loved the SW2 and 3, so figured the X would be just as awesome.

What was the first dig unit you were running?

So tell us how well it crawls. Looking at the first few pics and also reallizing no "shocks", I thought (he didnt cut it up) Then a few pics later, Yep he did!

It feels really good to be rolling BenderCustoms again after my year hiatus8)

It is just as to be expected in the evolution of the SW line of chassis, top of the line"thumbsup"
I tried the S3R dig unit at first, and it worked fine, but then found out about issues with DNA, so I moved it along to somebody else;-)

I like how it crawls so far Chris8);-)

WHAT THE HELL? WHY WOULD YOU RUIN THE BEAUTIFUL PEICE OF METAL THAT IS THE SWX? WHATS WRONG WITH YOU?

:flipoff:
looks good bud, its nice to see something different

Crap, haven't checked this thread in....a while:-P

I ended up breaking my leafs that I put on the front several weeks ago, so I picked up a fresh SWX and went back to shocks in the front and eliminated the BTA.

I did some subtle tweaks with springs and shock tuning, and I'm very pleased with how it's working now....to say the least.

Went to the ORCRC/Axial West Coast Championships Qualifier yesterday, and was able to pull off the win....by 2 points:shock:. 4 long 10gate courses and a 10 gate shootout course, with 5 reverses and 1 gate for the day"thumbsup" It all came down to the finish gate on the shootout course....which I was able to pull off clean8). Then I found out I won by 2 points:shock:....good thing I decided not to just straddle the finish gate like I had been planning, as that would have cost me the win. Good times and GREAT competition, a bunch of top-level drivers were there putting on a display that was simply fun to watch and be a part of"thumbsup", including the man himself who made it all possible for me to pull the win, by designing this superb chassis......BENDER/Axial8)8)
