Yeti XL Aftermarket Thread

Proline's look huge, awesome.
I had a recent run in with a sand stone slab, I'm lucky it just bent the protector plate.

They work well for the front, but I seem to have a habit of breaking the shafts so far. Haven't modded the rear for them yet.

Hi

Anyone have any luck with ally front knuckle carriers and knuckles with RPM A arms ?
Looking to get the Team Raffee ones.

Still using the stock plastic ones with RPM arms, so far they are one part I thought may need upgrading but has stood up to the abuse really well. I've sent it barrel rolling down a few cliffs and it's all in one piece. Well the Lexen is falling to bits but i think Axial used cheap Lexen as the screw holes cracked after painting before I even used it.

Lol I was just about to post this too.

I know RC4WD is pretty hit or miss but they should attempt a C-hub/Steering knuckle conversion for the XL axle, that'd be sweet. I like the F9 look of the axle anyways though.

500g for the axle !
What does the stock one weigh ?

Empty probably 1/2 that weight. Plastic is usually lighter than aluminum if I recall. Weight can be an advantage and disadvantage based on what your doing with it. For what the YXL is designed for the weight is a good thing. Combine this with BHB diffs and good bearings and it would be a heck of a lot more bullet proof than the plastic one.

All of the above is just my opinion though.

The XL needs weight in the rear, the rear end likes to bounce up and some times make it front flip. Plus that weight is down low and unsprung so its fine. The added strength is a plus too.

THANKS, you couldn't wait a month? Trying to financially get through Christmas and you throw this at me. Maybe I can make my daughter believe she got it for me. Then she will want one for her YXL. How am I gonna buy 2. This thing really needs some weight in the rear.

100% agree. You can get some actual feedback when spring tuning the Big Bertha rear. Reminds me of trying to steer my pig in 4H. F-in thing.

I hear you. BF doesn't help ether. Nobody would get Christmas (Yeah i said it) presents if i got my way. It's in Black so i'll pass for now. If it was Orange i would have bought it.

I also agree with Sneetches. When are the hubs coming out already.

Well I bit the bullet and bought it. If you buy it BE CAREFUL the web site automatically chooses air shipping at 30 dollars. UPS was 11 dollars. Will update with pics when it gets here.
