Current favorite 1.9 setup, more controllable and less wheel speed than the last setup, but with more torque and drag control.

Holmes BLE pro esc
Puller Pro 540 (standard) 2700kv
3s lipo 2200mah 35c
SHV500 12v servo

Haul Rig

Trakstar 21.5t Brushless sensored motor (having issues with the sensored part though) think i need to go (still think i should go with more torque though)
MMP ESC
4000mah 2s lipos

3S 2200 turnigy nano-tech
Hobbywing 1080wp
turnigy 8-15 amp ubec
GoolRC 4 pole 35 turn Motor
87/16, underdrive in the rear
This set-up ROCKS for me.:twisted::twisted:

If your stock electric components include the AE-5 esc, then gear down to 11t pinion and use 3s battery. I think you will like it :)

i will look into that. how would i setup my ESC to run a 3s, heard with 2s they good but anything else they need to be adjusted or something.

Nope. It auto-detects the voltage, just make sure jumper is set to lipo battery :) That's the AE-5.

For the last 3 years I have only used the stock Axial ESC with an Axial 45T motor, they served me well and I had not complaints. Recently I stepped up to the Tekin FX-R with 45T motor crawler combo and I have to say that I am simply loving the control, drag brake and the motor hold.

James.

I have the scx10.2 and I run:

Dynamite 60amp esc, castle creations bec, axial 35t motor and 3s lipo (either 35c 3300 or 25c 5000)

I'm looking to replace this setup with castle brushless setup, just doing research now. Just built my crawler a couple weeks ago.

Seems to have plenty of torque. My top end though is only 11.7 mph

All stock electronics (I've only had the truck for a week) running a Onyx 3000mAh NiMH 8.4v. Looking to switch to LiPO asap, just looking for suggestions.

All stock for now.......just replacing stuff as it breaks. So far its just been a waterproof HiTec servo. The stock one didn't like being submerged in 3 ft of ice cold water on New Years day. lol

Axial AE-5 ESC and 27T motor.

2S 5000mah Dynamite Lipos. I put a 3S 3300mah Glacier my kid runs in his Bomber in my SCX for kicks. Waaaay too quick, just wanted to wheelie and flip over. I'm happy with the 2S.
