What did you do today?

Worked on something new for an upcoming build. I put together the IERC LDT mount that I recently purchased and an Element RC Stealth X trans. Since the IERC LDT does not come with a skid, I picked up the Vader Products delrin skid from Gspeed Chassis. I'm gonna try something a little different and use the belt drive system.

I know it's nothing new and most people don't like it, but I've always wanted to try the belt drive out and I figured this trans setup would be the perfect opportunity to try it out.

So far no other plans for the rest of the build, but when the plans come together, I'll get a build thread started.

The HH motor is just a place holder so that I could get the belt stretched out over the pulleys. This build will be getting the HW Fushion PRO or SE in the future.

^ Interesting but a fun experiment. A couple family friends have asked questions about my hobby and asked if my rigs were gas or electric. It made me think how fun it would be with a gas powered crawler? Being able to hear the amount of throttle being applied and trying not to make it slip under power etc.

Put a Yeah Racing/Hackmoto V2 45t crawler motor in my MF-01x TR Jimny

Seems like it has a good bit more power than the worn out Integy 55t that I’ve had for around 15 years.

Tonight was the Telluride’s turn for a new motor, swapped out the well used Titan 21t 550 with a 12t pinion to a Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster Sport 21t 550 with a 10t pinion

I also put a metal gear set in the 2075 I swapped into it years ago. *The motor seems like it is better, but I need to get this out on*the rocks now too, hopefully I’ll get to that tomorrow on this and the above Jimny.

Yesterday I ran a couple of my trail trucks. Nothing broke. Great day. Bad day for 3 guys as they broke.
Today to the salvage yard for some SRT4 parts.

My brothers fiancé’s 17 Impala lost ac last weekend. When he told me where the dye was coming from I instantly knew what the problem was.. front evaporator.. smh. I’ve been a GM tech for about 12 years and dealt with a few of these before. So I spent last night and then this morning with a buddy of mine who’s a coworker stripping the whole dash out. Not a terrible job and although I’d consider myself a line guy, good to know I can go stuff like this too I guess

Bro, that does not look like fun! I’ll definitely pass lol!

My day was fun but not that fun. I spent the day cleaning our neglected 14’ pool, tearing down the kids old playhouse and getting the area prepped for the new one. The old one was a cedar kit from Lowes that was way too much money for what it was. The thing was rickety within a year. Even with me trying to keep all the bolts tight. Old one was 6’ x 4’. I’m building one that’s 10’ x 8’ with a 4’ porch for a few hundred more than that kit cost my in-laws a few years back. I’ll probably do a build thread here in chit chat once I get going on it.

Caught my pb, looking at about 25 lbs and 30 inches of fresh water Carp here...

Nice! Do you target carp? I haven’t gone out for them specifically, but know a couple spots where you just never know what you’ll pull out.

I saw an absolute monster of a carp under my kayak once but couldn’t for the life of me get it interested in what I had to offer…

I was fishing for Smallmouth, but this monster sucked up my lure.

Went and bought a Rototiller. It had been setting for quite a few years and wouldn't fire/run.
I got it for 75. after a good carb clean and a few minutes checking other things over, I got it running pretty well. Not perfect but pretty well non the less.
I'll order a carb rebuild kit for it and that should fix it up.

We went kayakin today. A 4 hr float took us 7 hrs, but had a blast. My first time goin

Took the carb apart last night and cleaned it up pretty well. reinstalled and its almost running perfect.
Tilled the garden area this am while it was just sprinkling out.
First rain we've had in about 6 or 7 weeks now here in the Mid Michigan area. We need it.
But just glad the Tiller Runs really well, and the garden is tilled so the ole lady and put some plants in the ground finally.

Other than that, today, I'm trying to figure out why my dang kidneys are bugging me.
It's either my kidneys or my back/spine, which I am more inclined to believe as the rest of my body is a bit achy due to the barametric pressure drop with the rain.

Played beach bum this week! Kayaking, wild horse tour, beach hangout, great food and of course plenty of alcohol to forget about the real world![emoji3508][emoji305][emoji482][emoji2520]

This has been sitting in my bedroom for a few weeks after wiring it up and I finally grabbed it today. I'm putting this in a work van [emoji23]

Company Outing to a Detroit Tigers Game.
Got to watch them lose in real life 10 to 7 to Atlanta though they did start out strong.
I saw the first game as they had a double header from last night's game being rained out.

Took my SCX10 and Telluride out to run with the same friend I went crawling with last Friday, new spot for him and one I last crawled with the Telluride in 2016.

Back to reality! Just got back from an awesome 7 days of R&R at the Outer Banks.

Beach, beer and sunshine was all that was on my mind! Great food, beautiful sunrises, fun kayaking in the Currituck Sound, spotted wild horses on the 4x4 beach of Corova & spending time with family was much needed!

Had the Taco loaded down! Four adults, luggage, beach stuff, 2 bikes and a ton of souvenirs. This was the first 14 hour trip with the '07 Tacoma and it passed with flying colors! She's 2K away from hitting the 200,000 High Mileage Club and it performed flawlessly. Can't wait to take her on the next trip!
