What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

Thanks for the kind words on the paint scheme but I can't take credit for it. B-MOW71 is the originator of that paint scheme. I liked it so much that I copied it with the exact paint colors.

I started out the day driving with the battery in the middle battery tray. Any climb over 45° the truck struggled. I quickly moved the battery up front and it did make a difference, but it still needs more weight. I will probably add some brass SSD portal covers to start.

Here's B-MOW71's truck.

Whose front battery mount did you use? I only run smaller packs as well, 1500/2200.

I’m very happy with the ssd portal covers.

LMAO!!! That was shot before I had the HH servo. No movie magic lol! Wish I knew how to remove certain sounds from videos. Thank you brother!! She finally crawls exactly like I've always wanted. It's very predictable now and crawls amazing.

Max-D, that thing looks great brotha!!! Gotta get you up here crawling with us one day.
Were you referring to the whining noise coming from the vehicle? The PWM frequency. I found that adjusting my HW1080 PWM setting to the highest number virtually eliminates that sound from recordings. Pulse Width Modulation.

If you were already aware, im just trying to help!

Sorry, i just read the prior post (s). I think i was mistaken.

Good-day

Scratch built a flatbed rear section and bumper to match. Going for a “farm truck” look for the old Defender!

Another thumbs-up for Night Owl's flatbed Defender. Would like to see some more pics of the mounting, body modification, and flatbed.. inside/ underneath/ close up. Nice job.

Thank you for the kind word. Yes I am using stock battery location, just the tray actually. I removed all the Traxxas battery retention stuff and use a strap instead. We only ever run the Traxxas 5000mah 3s batts.

This. This looks great. Are you using the stock battery tray location?

Sweet! Took the battery latch off and I like better with a strap. I am doing a flatbed for mine and I just bought a lcg battery tray to be able to pull it off.

I had to ditch the wooden bumper idea for now. My 7 yo drives this truck and sometimes things get a little wild in 2nd gear! Pine tree 1, bumper 0. Sooo I turned the old stock bumper into a stinger style one.

Cut some lugs on the stock Traxxas tires, I know others have done this as well...really impressed with how they crawled. They definitely outperformed the proline Super Swamper super soft tires that I put on a few weeks ago.

Also not overly impressed with the Super Swamper super soft tires...they do crawl pretty good and have a nice scale look, but are already getting shredded after a few crawls. Don't think I will be buying those again.

Now just sipe them up! I absolutely LOVE Canyon Trail tires, more specifically, MODDED C.T.'s! They are an OUTSTANDING performer especially after some cut-sipe-&-soak (wd 40).

Do you recommend one sipe cut per lug or two? Also, can you elaborate on the WD40? thx.....
