What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

Oh I'm making myself one of thise for the front diff for sure. That pumpkin seems to get stuck a lot so putting a skid plate there that slides seems like a no brainer.

It definitely helps.

I’ll take a picture of the back of it when I get home so you cAn see the mounts

Went out for a ride with some buddies yesterday afternoon after work. Was a great time! And much needed!!! It had just stopped raining when we got there. So everything was nice and slick. There were a few lines I couldn't make that I've made on dry days. Wheelspeed was definitely our friend in allot of places.

My buddy brought his trail dog with him. That little guy was climbing everything. LMAO!

Got my first look in person of the scx10-3 (scout and Jeep). I'll have to say for stock rigs they do fairly well. The scout had a couple upgrades and was able to make it up more then the Jeep. Over all was a lot of fun.

Is it one that’s a drill and tap on the same bit?

I saw one used in a video and I’ve been looking for one since without luck.
Those are made by Irwin, can be found at most Home Depot, online, or through your local tool trucks. I swear, they've SAVED my ass (working on 1:1 vehicles) easily over 15 times. And the coolest part, my old tool truck guy would take em in after one use, hand me another, rinse and repeat, no questions asked!

Thanks!!!

For whatever reason yesterday the combo drill/tap bits were now always coming up on my searches. It was only the 2 piece set before.

So I now have a couple coming.

Who needs hyrax when you have four paw claw?? LoL!!!

The Trail Boss out there is great!!!! Very photogenic as well. [emoji16]

That is great to have a Rock section scout !
Were you near the santos ttt or are there more rock sections hidden in the bike park ? I am always looking for a variety of places to go. Your suggestions would be much appreciated.

That's out at the Santos trail. Some hidden lines that someone built but rarely get used. Shoot me a PM and I'll give you a idea of where. Once I get home tomorrow. You'll have to let me know if you plan on going there and maybe I'll be able to go with you.

The vanquish bumpers showed up.

These.....are......awesome!

Front goes all the way in and bolts right up.

I love the approach angle.

Had to cut a little bit on the body to work. Not much at all.

The rear also goes all the way in no sweat but the mount holes don’t line up as well.

It needs a tiny bit of tweaking. I could probably even flip the mount due to me cutting the rear for better approach angle.

I don’t think the body was secured in the last picture. The bumper fit was tight so I didn’t bother screwing the rear down.

I got about 15 minutes of playing in before other Duties drug me away.

Whatever the material the bumpers are made out of, they just glide on the rocks.

The front works awesome, however I didn’t get a chance to try it on a steep descent. But I feel because of the approach angle it will do better than stock.

I was worried about the rear receiver hanging up but had no issues.

All in all, extremely pleased with these for 14 bucks.

Ive been running them about a year now and are certainly a massive improvement over stock. I mounted mine as high as possible and trimmed the body just enough to fit. It still looks good but has tons of clearance.

I painted the lc70 body that’s going on it. It’s Tamiya black with krylon gloss clear

After my testing the bumpers yesterday, I’ve realized that I should flip the front and rear mounts.

They did great for the majority of encounters but being higher would definitely be a benefit.

Some rocks seemed to have a nub/formation that was right above the top of the bumper. When trying to slide up, it would get stuck.

I could back up, hit it harder and it would go up. But, I’m not real thrilled doing that.

I absolutely agree on massive improvements over stock. They also seem slipperier than stock as well.

Finally got all my TRXs Castled.

Mamba Monster X, Mamba X, and Micro X Crawler.

They seem to run the Hobbystar Crawler motors okay. Factory Sport kit gearing (17t/39). Loads of wheel speed, too much really, but smooth starting.

6 “kit build” has a 9t pinion and no trouble. I’ve not had a brushed motor in this one since before I converted it to 6x6. The old Hobbywing Xerun XR8 SCT had some cogging in high gear, the Mamba X eliminated all of it. Wires to be tucked soon.

The Micro got warm quickly with the Hobbystar 2400 in the Bronco, so I tossed a Castle 2850 Slate with it and it’s much happier.

Yeah, the wiring is terrible on this one. Once I’m happy with the settings, I’ll tidy it up and properly seal it.

Nice neighbor...I am always looking in my travels for big rocks to add to my course. I built up a dirt hill...mixed some concrete...then placed the rocks in. When they are that size... the rig might move them around.

My neighbor gave me a bunch of rocks. Going back for more after work. I have a vision.......

That’s awesome max!!!!

While Jeff is correct on the concrete, my only concern would be effecting possible resale value of the house.

If you and your family feel you’re planted there, then go crazy. Potential of leaving, I’d make a decorative rock garden or something.

Just my thoughts.

Whatever you wind up doing will be fun!

It’s awesome having a home course.

This is my last house. I'm going to die here. I'll leave my TRX 4 to the new homeowner after I'm dead . LOL
