What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

Read where crawlers like the underdrive only because it gears it down lower than stock gearing...compared to overdrive . Will try this in the future. So final verdict of HH TorqueMaster...crawls slower than stock. More responsive...faster top end...even with 9T.

Benp ...I noticed you installed the adjustable front shock mount. How is this done to keep everything in place ...the front cross member for the body studs to still line up. Did you grind the factory tower almost flush ? How is the crossmember supported now that the shock towers are replaced ? Thank you.

They just replaced the front shock towers.

That being said, I believe sport is different from other models. I don’t have the wheel wells with built in shock towers. Just shock towers, so it’s easier to replace.

They lined right up will all existing mounting holes on the frame and body mounts.

The panhard mount is exactly the same except made out aluminum. It mounts to the shock tower. No complaints at all.

Okay thanks..they do not show the back side of the mounts.

For the sport they mount right to the body mounts and frame like stock does.

While I like the ability to adjust the upper shock position a touch, I primarily bought those particular mounts because of the panhard mount.

Out of the ones I looked at, the samixx ones were the best.

These look well made too. Rear out of stock.

Which TorqueMaster did you go with Pro 550/21T?

I saw those. I actually got the rears before my current ones.

I passed on the fronts because the panhard mount is only secured on one side. I wasn’t sure how strong that would be

The Samix secures on both sides like stock.

Yes I did. It has great slow crawl and enough power to lift up the front over a gap or somewhere you would bottom out if crawled slowly. I have more top end than stock also. Even with a 9T pinion.

Okay...will order those..thanks.

That was just my thought process on the matter.

I’ve seen pictures of broken pan hard mounts that have the single mount point.

There has to be some good stress going on there.

Put the Landmines on yesterday and played.

I’m having a lot of fun with the droop setup. It’s crazy watching the suspension cycle as the truck goes along.

Still needs some tweaking to lower the CG and I need to figure out still how to keep the body down. There are some maneuvers that I could do before with stock suspension but is difficult now due to the suspension unloading. Over I go. [emoji1787]

I might try heavier shock oils. I’m currently running 10 in front and 15 in back.

The Landmines did good and I believe even better than before. I think they’re hopefully breaking in now. I just have to come to grips that some of my rocks are slick as hell. A lot of spin and grip.

The stock bumper is a coin toss as well. Really helps and also really hinders.

The slick rock up at the shop that I couldn’t get up before with the Landmines was zero issue. Bumper hit and truck went right up.

The bumper problems are when I contact a rock at the end of a steep almost vertical descent. It just stops.

All in all it’s a fun balance of good and could be a lot better.

If anything, the droop gives good glamour shots. [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

The vanquish bumpers showed up.

These.....are......awesome!

Front goes all the way in and bolts right up.

I love the approach angle.

Had to cut a little bit on the body to work. Not much at all.

The rear also goes all the way in no sweat but the mount holes don’t line up as well.

It needs a tiny bit of tweaking. I could probably even flip the mount due to me cutting the rear for better approach angle.

I don’t think the body was secured in the last picture. The bumper fit was tight so I didn’t bother screwing the rear down.

I got about 15 minutes of playing in before other Duties drug me away.

Whatever the material the bumpers are made out of, they just glide on the rocks.

The front works awesome, however I didn’t get a chance to try it on a steep descent. But I feel because of the approach angle it will do better than stock.

I was worried about the rear receiver hanging up but had no issues.

All in all, extremely pleased with these for 14 bucks.

Looks good. I bought a 3mm tap and drill bit combo on eBay that has come in handy for places that holes don’t line up. I need my bumpers bolted in ...that ‘s how I carry mine.

Is it one that’s a drill and tap on the same bit?

I saw one used in a video and I’ve been looking for one since without luck.

No...one correct drill bit size and the 3mm tap. Of course one would need the small tap holder.

Ok. Thanks

ETA - This is what I’m looking for but not having luck.

Unless it says 3mm on the side, I’m kind of at a loss with just the numbers on there like the pictures. [emoji1787][emoji17]

I’ll pretty probably just get the standard 2 piece drill and tap.

Hey Ben, what is that skid plate you have over your diffs? Can you send me a photo of that from the underside? How does it mount?

Those bumpers are sweet! I love the way the front one slopes to slide you up the rocks.

The differential skids mount using 2 of the diff cover screws. The center skid just lays right over stock skid and attaches by replacing the stock screw with a longer one. Really easy.

I like them and the stainless seems to go over rocks nice. Have had all 3 since the beginning.

The vanquish bumpers are great for 14 bucks.

Can’t wait to try them out more!

ETA - and since they’re inexpensive, I wouldn’t be against experimenting with it by adding some weight to see if that would help with keeping the front down.

Just added photo

Thanks Jeff!!!
