What did you do to your SCX24 today?

Got my C10 a couple weeks ago. 2 Parts orders later.

Aluminum links, HR driveshafts, HR brass knuckles, aluminum axle housings with brass diff cover on front, brass +5 wheel hexes, aluminum beadlocks with RC4WD scrambler tires, HR telescopic shocks, aluminum F/R bumpers.

I suppose I should drive it at some point.

Guess I am to new to be able to post pics. She looks good though.

Figured it out, here ya go

I designed, printed, and installed a one of a kind flat skid for the SCX24.

I threw the tires and wheels that I got in the mail the other day onto the chassis to see what it looked like.

Recieved my tires and new motor plate today so in went the 050 motor on the new motor plate along with some RC4WD Steel rims wrapped with the Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ tires from injora.
Have not had a chance to really mess with the truck since I put them on. Will have to wait till tomorrow for some testing.

Metal axles and some beefy boys to support em’….all chinazon stuff..the tires are not bad but the heavy coating on the axles had to be sanded with a Dremel and a pick file where all the bearings sit and where the knuckles attach..not a huge deal but laborious and only discovered after much binding..

I haven't RC'd in close to ten years, and back then it was mainly sliding either a RC18T or a Mini-T deep into lefthand turns on either a dirt or carpet oval at one of the LHS's. When a camping buddy of mine said to me last week that he was thinking of getting one of these to mess around the campfire, I just had to get one.

So today I opened the box, charged the battery, drained the battery, and ordered a deadbolt for the mrs. It's going to be a great campong season...

Gave it a friend...
The deadbolt arrived today, but I'm not all that happy with it. The charger doesn't work, and the articulation is horrible. I'm going to have to work on that...

Technically, this wasn't done "today"...it was done on Sunday (three days ago).

Well son and I spent most of the day adding another motor to his deadbolt. This is the second motor to stop working. I paid for the $20 motor I sure hope it lasts longer. Furtek champion brushed.

Since the motor is longer it was harder to mount the battery tray.

Added a hidden screwdriver so I can get to the battery in the field.

Took a grey C10 and threw a mess of Mofo and HR parts at it to make the Bad Ideas Express.

HR links, long-travel single-drop shocks (No seals but somewhere I read you're supposed to put grease in them? Any help there?), driveshafts, skid plate, brass knuckles, brass diff covers front and back.

Mofo 600mAh 2s, 4100 BAM brushless with the 24 tooth pinion and 32 tooth spur, bombproof Mod.5 trans gears and aluminium housing, 2:12 worm gears, V2 CVDs up front with the pin retaining sleeve, monster truck tires, fancy hub nuts, 12g servo pushing brass steering links, and a steel cross rod and aluminium rear long-arm body hinge bracing the stock chassis rails.

Originally mounted the transmission backwards and moved the battery but I got maybe 90 seconds before it unthreaded the spur gear nut and spat it out.

Now we have the transmission assembled forward, stock battery tray, ESC tray butchered for space so only the front body mount tubes remain, the single pin flat body mount at its highest setting with holes drilled through to put the S-curve posts in even higher, a brass plate bent and hammered to attach the stock body hinges to the tall aluminium one, the front bumper mount flipped, and the front shocks bolted to the bumper mount holes while the rear shocks are bolted one hole in from the tail on the steel crossrod.

Stock V1 radio and Lizard Pro ESC are on a chunk of plastic clamshell packaging making a riser plate that holds them just under the front windshield.

So we went from 1:5 at the motor mount to 3:4, and from 1:16 at the axles to 1:6, driven by a 4100 Kv brushless on 2s.

It can't crawl anymore, the motor but it's SCREAMING fast. Gyroscopic procession of the monster truck tires is a serious steering concern now.

It's absolutely stupid and uncontrollable and I love it.

I’ve just picked up a twice used green deadbolt, all stock apart from brass wheel weights

I’ve ordered a few bits from Injora including the carbon log chassis kit and a nicer set of wheels from Amazon
