What did you do to you SCX-10 today?

Never thought this would happen, but I stripped about 25% of the intermediate gear in the transmission today. I was running a 7-cell NiMH battery on the stock motor with a 9t pinion when it happened....not even a 3S lipo!! So I guess I am ordering metal gears for the transmission.

Got by scx10 built a couple weeks ago. Forgot to post some pics of the build before I broke it in. Got over anxious to get it out on the rocks. So here's some pics with the light kit on the rocks. Having some minor issues with the brightness, but had to test it out. First scaler build, so learned some things for the next build.

Front bumper, panhard mount, CMS plate, front shock mounts all fabbed up and welded on today. Most of that you can't see so you'll have to take my word for it for the time being. Tonight after the house goes to sleep I tackle the rear shock mounts and rebuild the donor trans. Also, I need more front clearance, so that's a thing to deal with as well.

This is all going in today...so I guess I haven't done it yet....but it'll be done today (the extra plastic gears are just back ups to the back ups). Some gears, trail accessories, BEC...can't wait. Also have a new servo on the way, RC4WD rims, and CI Foams for my R35 BFGs...

It was a good day at the work bench. Cleaned out and regreased both front and rear axles. Added a removable solid core to the male ends of both drive shafts. Installed some Hot Racing High Steer Knuckles, Axial Universal Joints, Aluminum C-Hubs and rear lock outs. Spend a bit of time trying to figure out how/where I'm going to mount my HeyOK servo winch.

After I test drove the scx10 and looked at it on the bench, I will have to make a trip to my LHS and see if I can pick up a steering link that gives more clearance on the pumpkin. If they don't have anything, I haven't decided if I want to try and make my own or order the Blue Monkey set up. I also need to pick up a servo wire extension since my electronics box is roughly where my gas tank should be and the wire won't reach my winch.

It was a long, hard day at work but I feel much better after putting in a little wrench time on my Jeep.

Installed the rest of the scale parts, underdrive gears in the rear and HD stock gears in front. Also had to test it all out. Packed axles with marine grade grease.

Had a little slop with the high steer axial knuckles so I threw in some delux rc knuckle bushings.

And got to have a poser shot "thumbsup" But did it for a reason. The RTI score
did go down by a few points. Before the bushing it was 1020 now its 1016
