Ordered a few more parts. I am still waiting on the Deadbolt I ordered to arrive. Should be here by Friday or Saturday. This will be my first crawler, been doing nitro SCT for a while. So I've been reading and researching. Started ordering pieces and parts to at least get it useable. Apparently it is a bit weak out of the box. Looking forward to crawling but also really enjoy the scale aspect of the hobby as well. Looking forward to building this truck as funding permits :)
 
I'm going to post here, as I don't want to start a new thread, only to find out it's been covered many times over. But I searched here and on google, and can't find anything. Has anyone done a 2 speed in a Deadbolt? Either the SSD 2 speed SCX10 II conversion or full trans from RC4WD? Or is there another option I'm missing?

Installed a Futaba receiver and Hobbywing brushed ESC in my ancient SCX10 Dingo RTR. I have a Pro-line body being painted right now for this project.

 
Mounted up a Baja Designs LED light bar to replace the five pods that come on the Deadbolt. Also switched out the servo horn for an Axial Aluminum one.

I used the opportunity to extend the wheelbase a bit, just for fun. These are just temporary anyways, until I get the STRC short wheelbase chassis and change my body.

Swapped the plastic upper links for Ti versions from SSD. The new links are awesome & also the only Ti ones I could find for the 12" G6 wheelbase (w/o having to buy a complete link kit).

Also swapped the pinion from stock 20T to 14T. Looks good so far! There was way too much wheel speed before with 3s & a 27T brushed motor!

Cut my stock trepadors (not completely done) and installed my metal gear kit. Forgot to take a pic of the gears though.
