Was gifted Powerhobby grabber tires for my vanquish, can you recommend me inserts for these?

Wife got me power hobby grabber tires in 1.9 on Amazon. I saw it in the order history and I think she knew as I had them in my save for later list.

I have been mostly using vanquish stance tires I bought off eBay after I built my vrd. When it comes to inserts, I do need a bit of help as I’m lost at this point. Everyone has suggested me to get soft 1.9 3D printed inserts what brand and design, I do not know. My vrd is has reduced weight I don’t even have the sliders or many of the braces installed anymore.

You guys have any suggestions for inserts for the powerhobby grabbers in 1.9”? I don’t trail, I 100% crawl and really only crawl on hardlines since I like the challenges, usually dry clean rocks or areas. The stance tires are nice but I found they kind of fold against me and roll when it comes to side hilling. Any suggestions on 3D printed inserts. Thankful for the help.

I'm still a proponent of foams. Granted, I haven't tried 3D printed inserts, but they are so overpriced if you buy them. And I can't see most of them not being bouncy.

The Grabbers are 120mm tall so the typical 4.75" inserts from Proline or Vanquish would work. You can also contact Crawler Innovations (CI) and see what he would recommend. They also have a "Foam Calc" to help you select the correct foams. CI has way more options than Proline or Vanquish.

The Grabbers are 120mm tall so the typical 4.75" inserts from Proline or Vanquish would work. You can also contact Crawler Innovations (CI) and see what he would recommend. They also have a "Foam Calc" to help you select the correct foams. CI has way more options than Proline or Vanquish.

This is a good source. I’ve had 3D printed inserts before and they were good at side hilling but I couldn’t get the right softness for grip most were so firm they didn’t grip anything well. So I also lean towards foams. I wondered what others were using.

I have stock vanquish stance tires I got off eBay for my vrd carbon. I have tried proline bfg krawlers with the stock foam it has and preferred stance tires they were notably tackier and softer, they just gripped better. The 4.75 jconcept tusks I have are good but the stock foam is way to firm I didn’t like it at all.

if your trying to build a ultra light and plan to compete you might want foams othewise 3d printed are the way to go and depending on what inserts you use there not that much heavyer than foams and are way cheaper than ci foams and last longer and are more consistent

Might try Hair/bath scrunchies/loofas for the light weight rigs.

Do you have recommendation? I'll try them out and wouldn't mind and extra set of inserts. I know of one 3d printed inserts maker called roboslugrc that has many different variations. Only 3d brand I'm familiar with for 1.55 and 1.9 inserts on a mini capra but i built it so light it didn't matter.

I would have never thought of that. I would say it's a lightweight vrd carbon. The transmission/motor still pretty heavy but I plan on keeping them. I really like the way crawlers drive 65f 35r on a lighter scale. Max out the steering to drift angles and that's where my builds are currently at. I think I have a good direction on my inserts.

I emailed Crawler Innovations. I'll also try the 3D printed inserts for kicks. I have 2 vrd carbons. One for indoor and one for outdoor. Exact same setup. The indoor vrd stays clean and looking brand new and gets no apparent wear and tear. I find on my indoor crawler every tire sticks to nearly everything. Outdoors, it's a whole different world especially when wet which is common where I'm at.
