Updated and revised SORRCA Rules and Specs

I might have skipped something in the rules and specs, but I have a question. Is a canteilever suspension on a class 3 legal or ilegal?

Thank you!
there really is nothing in the rules about suspension design.. so cantilever alone would not make a truck illegal..

are there any minimums or guidlines for getting slider points?
case in point, on my clod body build im thinking about doing cab only. ie from the back of the front wheel well, to the back of the cab. not continueing on to the rear wheel well.
would this get slider points?

The Sliders on a Honcho only extend the length of the cab and do not extend completely from wheel well to wheel well.

thanks! after reviewing all of MG200 and @twill vendors threads, it appears none of the sliders for any of the bodies extend past the cab.
then again they were all truggies and im doing a full hard body with bed.

If they cover the cab you should be good for the points. I don't see anyone denying them to you.

would a jeep brute type body on a honcho be legal for class 2?
If I made the whole thing out of tubing and then put sheet metal over it, and put a cage/ honcho like bed with sides, would it still be legal?
i want to make this for montana next year but i want to make sure it would work for class 2."thumbsup"

is there any wheel base restrictions in class 1,2,3?

There isn't a set number to restrict wheelbase. Wheelbase restrictions are set around the body and/or chassis. Here are the wheelbase related items from the rules posted on the first page...

Class 1:

• Wheels must be aligned within the body wheel wells (center of wheels to center of wheel wells +/- 1/2 inch total combined)
• Vehicle must run a full length rail chassis (The rail chassis must be as long as the vehicles wheelbase)(Tamiya CC-01 Chassis are allowed)
• Tires can never extend beyond the body’s bumpers or the rear of any truck bed. (Any stingers, fairleads, shackles, bolts, etc are not considered part of a bumper when determining this.)

Class 2:

• The body (including bumpers) must be 3" longer than the wheelbase
• Vehicle must run a full length rail chassis (The rail chassis must be as long as the vehicles wheelbase extensions are legal for bumpers as long as the chassis meets other specs)
• Truggies are allowed, but must have a rail chassis up too the rear of the skid minimum. The truggy structure must extend to the back of the rear axles pumpkin or beyond to be legal.
• Flatbeds that run the full length of the rail chassis are allowed. The bed must be as wide as the cab the entire length of the bed.

Class 3 is pretty much open.

Where can i find course design spec's?
they only major design spec is the gate width which is mentioned in each class's vehicle specs. Otherwise the course points and penalties are listed on the sorcca website in my sig line as well as here somewhere:mrgreen:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:, had them all along. I did'nt even see it in the class details. Thanks."thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup".

Great job on the rules.

Wheeeeeewh , 11 pages down and I still have a question.
Class 3 says something to the effect of "tubers... min 5 in wide from front to rear of door"

ok

is that from the floor pan to the roof , or just at the middle of the door? I think the roof is always a bit narrower than the mid door.

Should allow 4ws AND dig in class 3 , no choosing on course. That type of rig in the 1:1 world , almost all have both and use them alot.

Other than that ....
The rules look great
Thanks
Dwane

It means that part of the body or frame must be 5" wide from the front of the door to the back. It can be at the top, middle, or bottom.

We are taking this slowly. We didn't want rigs to HAVE to have rear steer and dig to be competitive right from the get go. In the future when more Class 3 rigs are built with both RS and dig (or just one) we may loosen the rules a little bit. We don't want peoples competitiveness to be limited by the amount of money they have...hence the 5 point penalty for using either item. Later, Tim.

They are already covered under the etc.. portion of scale accesories"thumbsup"

"Realistic exterior items (max -6 pts): Items that are non functional but you would see on a trail truck
• Fuel cell, exhaust, jerry can, hubs on all wheels, steering stabilizer, disc/drum brakes on all wheels, mirrors(2), wipers(2), antenna, license plate, Fire extinguisher, trail tools (Hi-lift jack, etc.)first aid, Etc. -1 each"

Missed it, thanks!
