*** Twin Force Upgrades ***

Well I ordered the Hell Fire diff cuz someone here said It fit the Mad Force Axle. To everyone who did not know the Hell Fire is a 42t ring. Can someone tell me if there is a 43t for this diff.

hardcore racing is getting out of the rc business and have all their rc stuff "on sale" (for hcr thats not saying much haha). so here are some normally $85 machined billet mp 7.5/777 knuckles for $42.50. $10 less than ofna's cnc units. And supposedly, according to their description, they offer 50% more steering throw. hmm i wonder if that is true.

Thanks for the tip. Do those knuckles have built in caster though?.....like most buggy knuckles do? That'd be the kicker. They sure are proud of them. Even while discounted.:lol:

Knuckles with caster could be used, but your tires wouldn't be flat on the ground. Don't think I'd wanna spend that much cash just to try it,

I like those Helical cut gears.
But be carefull , I just tried picking up a set at LHS and the Kyosho # that is listed in this thread was a DEEP dish Ring gear. so it was 1mm to thick for my center carrier.
these Ring/pinion sets look exactly like my 1/8 Losi After shock centers
I'm looking for stronger Ring and pinion and easier to bolt on Knuckles ( non caster built in)

I am using revo shafts connected to Losi Aftershock DIFFS
with Hyper 7 Universals with Jammin Knuckles

Great info
Here's a list of HB parts that work. Both Tower/HB part#'s

The Cen Shafts are great for DIG shafts on supers
the I.D of the shaft is 6mm

Used it a a sub front shaft on my build.

You guys are great with this info
thank you
"thumbsup"

The inner shaft has 6 thick splines.
Collapsed Length (pin to pin) = 4-1/8"

Extended Length (pin to pin with 1-1/8" sleeved in the shaft) = 6-1/8"
View attachment 66609

Each half is right around 4" long (overall).

Just thought you would like to know that the 17mm hex they are now making these with a closed cap-- NO hole nut, looks better . Hoa Bao has them I got mine on ebay
.

Spent a lot of time on the crappy Kyosho sight collecting part#'s from all 777's, 7.5's, and Inferno's. Most I'm sure will work cause they are common between all the cars/trucks. Pretty sure everything on this list works on a Twin.
Big thanks to ALL who have contributed!!

lst aft losi ring gear versus Kyosho ofna

How thick are those Ring gears ?

I just received the Lightening helicut gears and the ring gear is a massive 8mm thick

Anyone come across a 5.7mm thick Ring gear ?

OK which Kyosho set (pt# would be helpfull) dose not work. The IS007 has been used the most around hear. The MA050 set is a direct helical set for the Mad Force, same housing as the Twin. The HB set C9009, C9010 also have been used. They can not be drilled to except the Revo shafts, but the CEN shafts will work with the set screw to secure them. MAKKEM is also using these HB gears with modified revo shafts.

hey guys, i just won a Kyosho ST-T differential on ebay for $30 total shipped to my door. now off the top of my head, i can just bolt this directly into the tranny case and go...

do i have to replace the pinion gear as well from the drive shaft?
should i get some shims in there to keep it nice and tight. i have the link for the shims on my tower wish list.

also, i have been seeing some nice Jammin CRT diffs on ebay, for relatively cheap... about $25. are those a direct bolt in? or would i need the helical cut pinions?

thanks guys.

sure did sir!

guess my mind thinks that the diff is part of the tranny. the whole thing might as well be part of the tranny "thumbsup"

im getting some chromoly pinions soon via ebay for the st-rr to match up soon.

do you recommend some shims with this type of differential pinion combo?

and is it the same ratio as the stock differential

Stock is 3.3, 13/43. ST may be 4.3, 10/43. You will need shims. The gears ussually come with them, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to get an assortment of thicknesses to make that diff happy. One other thing, you are going to have to be creative if you are running Revo shafts. You will not be able to drill those cro-mo gears to except the lock pins.

One other thing. The diff is only part of the trany if you are running one of those toy crawlers. Cluds, I think is what they call them"thumbsup"

nice! i actually have a clod, but it breaks ALL THE TIME.

well, i'll have to order a new diff for the rear as well, or i won't be doing any part of the tranny any good with two different ratios on either end.

i'll be getting one of the shim kits tower offers for the hot bodies cars/trucks to help out.

and im not running revo shafts yet... but i plan to get them on soon.

btw... would happen to know if there is a thread demonstrating how to get the darn one way bearing out. i know i read it, and cant for the life of my find it.

thanks again for the assistance

Drive shaft coonection :
REVO:?: OR CENN:?:

If usinf a revo shaft are you guys drilling a hole in your Pinion to run the REVo screw pin throug it :?:

I replaced my revo screw pin with a 6/32 set screw, does not look like it's going to hold long

Whats the solution ?

Thanks

i say revo. And yes drill a hole in the pinion for the screw pin. If you have stock pinions, one of the pinions is impossible to drill through so you may have to get another of the "softer" one. The black ones are drillable. actually I don't know if this was changed with the twin force axles. I have the mad force kit axles and they had a harder pinion in either the front or rear... can't remember because that was like 3 years ago that I bought that.
