TrailFinder 2 from Alaska!

Got some pics with the new bumper on!! The added weight up front was pretty noticeable from the start. She looks great tho! [emoji106] [emoji106]

And she's a 1.55er again! Been really wanting to try these growlers for a while now and no ones buying them at my LHS! Although I've been completely impressed with the 1.9 Baja claws 4.19, I've always heard nothing but good things with these tires.

Now that I have some experience with the Baja claws, I can finally compare which of the two will so better in Alaskan terrain.

Stay tuned for next week!

Good luck with the growlers. I tried them and wasn't impressed. They were ok on dry rocks and kinda sucked everywhere else. Wet rocks might as well have been ice and they don't bite in the dirt at all.

Yeah we'll see. To be honest I was really happy with my Baja claws because they seem to do real well in the snow, it's just that I've heard so many good things about these and they look awesome too! Can't hurt to have more tires xD

That must be the first bad review I've read on growlers so far. Those tires are untouchable.. Builds looking damn good so far too man the 1.55 growlers sit right at home with the tf2"thumbsup"

My thoughts exactly lol but if I don't like it one of my buddies from the club literally hoards tires...I'm sure he'll want them xD

By chance, are you on instagram user name ak_rcdriver? I believe i stumbled upon your account haha I am user got_accord

Got to try out the Growlers today! The trail we're running on is mostly hard packed snow with some rocks here and there.

As far as running on hard packed snow, the growlers...well... Kind of sucked to be honest. It struggled BAD on areas that my 4.19 Baja claws would simply hook up on. The claws I can actually "feel" clawing up in the snow and hooking up where as the growlers just simply felt like slicks. This I did kind expect as the way the tread on the growlers are a bit closer to each other compared to the Baja claws.

However, once the growlers hit anything other than snow then.... It simply hooks up! I was climbing rocks fairly easily and was even pulling off lines I haven't before. I'd say it's equal to the 4.19 Baja claws as far as rocks go. And remember that the claws are on steel wheels and weighs a full 90g more a wheel+tire compared to my growler set up.

I can't wait to try these in the summer!

Oliver, I have been drinking my morning coffee and watching some of your videos/reading through your thread. Are you running 1.9 wheels with the 4.19 claws? I like the look and they seem to do very well for you. Your videos are very enjoyable to view.. As far as the scx10/tf debate goes I do agree that the trail finder is highly detailed. My input on the topic is that I like the durability and the overall unlimited options available for the scx axles and tranny. An scx cannot be ruled or judged by the typical.. Slapping a high riding lexan(yuk) body on a scx platform and calling it a scale rig. I have built many and I mean many scale rigs using scx drivetrain combined with detailed hard bodies. The key is the details. Currently I am building a class one with a TF2 body kit (bobbed), an original bruiser frame (complete with leafs) and some highly modded scx axles. I am aiming for a very scale yoder that flat out works. In closing I would like to say that you have a very rice rig! Keep up the killer thread"thumbsup"

Completely agree here, some awesome videos. This rig's come a long way.

Thank you! And yes the 4.19 claws are awesome! They work well even in the snow. As far as the scx/tf2 thing I agree with you on that. There are far more things you can do to an scx10. Anyways I'm glad that you like the videos!

The club's doing another trail meet tomorrow morning so I should have more pics and some new videos soon.

Had another good day of trailing! Weather's warming up again up here and the trails got pretty icy overnight. The growlers had a pretty rough time in the slick stuff. The baja claws however did an awesome job still!

Anyways some pics!

I had an idea that popped in my head Sunday morning... Maybe I should build a scale garage! Err.... In my case a scale corner lol.

I always put my RCs on this table I have and I figured I could just build the walls and place it on the table! It's not a full garage but it should do for pictures...

Anyways here are some pics!

Beautiful day today! Figured I'd try this spot and it turned out awesome!!

I did almost lose the rig tho... I had her at the edge of the cliff about to take a pic and I accidentally hit the throttle and she jumped off! Glad she got caught on a ledge and didn't go all the way to the water. She did fall a good 10 ft down which bent my bumper mount.
