The French Canadian Bomber (First-time Build)

Finished my "dressed-up" Chanquish wheels.

Someone on Facebook said i ****ed up and the rings have to be bolted AFTER the tires... [emoji43]

Please tell me He's trolling...

Of course not! The tires can, and will go on after you finish assembling the wheels. There are front halves, and back halve so they should sandwich together after you install the clamping ring in the tire.

My cousins show me loads of nonsense on face book, so it doesn’t surprise me that an EFFED up screwball would give someone bad advice on something so simple.

My kid is sick and i stayed home with him for the past 2 days. I had time on my hands and decided to finish the body panels on the Bomber.

Then i did a mock up...then i said **** it and installed everything :)

I'm still missing the heads and some scale accessories like the window nets and the high-lift jack but its....AWESOME !

I'm really happy with the final look and can't wait to get it dirty !

First up the mecanical side :

Then the eye-candy :
FYI, the number 4 is there since i'm born on the 14th, my girlfriend on the 4th and my son on the 24th !

Looks awesome! Where did you get these body panels from? I like them a lot!

It's from Wayne Kent on Facebook but he stopped making them now

Those tires are the bomb-diggedy...

I love my tiny-tire 1.7" (4.19" OD) set on my Ascender, and...

An admittedly-relatively newbie just won 1st place at Axialfest rock racing in 1.9 brushed class SCX10.2, as well as 2nd place in Ultra 5K Enduro on his 4.75" set!

http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial-scx10-ii/600684-axialfest.html

Yup that was me! Those tires are this shizz!!! I just got a Bomber and got them in 2.2 and coincidentally have the same Chinese rims as you. What tool did you use to screw in all of the little beadlock scale hardware? I might do the same and swap out the stock hardware for the SSD ones you have. Ive already broken off one of the stock beadlock screws. It’s like they’re made out of balsa wood. Super brittle and pure crap. But then again what do you expect for $50 for a set of 4.

Looks like a LockedUpRC tool, I have one as well:

2mm Socket (tip) - HD

and the handle:

Tool Handle
Yes i bought 2 lockedup rc handles and the scale socket drivers 2mm (SSD ring screws) and 3mm (acorn nuts slw screws).

Just make sure you get the Non-HD 3mm Socket for the hub screws. For these rims, the 3mm HD Socket walls are too thick and won't fit in the holes of the beadlock wheels.
The 2mm HD is fine on the ring holes.

Went camping last week and i brought the bomber for some beach and forest runs.

I also had the yeti Jr for my 3y old son.

Nothing broken but there is a very annoying squeeking noise that is getting louder... I think the driveshafts are about to die...

The only other problem i had was the set screws from the VP antirock bar coming loose even with blue threadlock and oddly enough, 2 screws from the skid plate are coming loose [emoji848]

I have a video of some crawling action but i need to upload it to YouTube first...

That beach looks cold.
It was actually pretty cold on the day of the picture but the next few days were above 28 celcius.
The lake water was around 86 farenheit.

It is pretty far North so yeah it's not florida or miami [emoji56]

Another forest run today at my wife's dad house. They live 2hrs North of Montréal in a wooded area.

Still Haven't broken anything, only scratches and à very happy kid [emoji56]

Edit: i meant my wife's Dad, not step Dad, sometimes the right Word in English just won't come up...

I did a little training session for the kid with my little yeti jr.
He's pretty good for 3 years old.

I will build an scx10.2 with him once he's ready.

Last day of vacation, i went to a different area where they keep rocks, gravel and sand to build new houses and roads.

Added quite à few scratches and i finally rubbed off some of the wheel paint along with tire lettering [emoji24]

The bomber will require maintenance and a good session of dusting off.

For anyone wondering I'm not dead [emoji39]

Really swamped at work and the summer went by too fast. I didn't get much free time for the RC world.

I will be going on a Christmas trip at the same spot from the last pictures. So you guys will see the snowy and frozen version.

After this ride it will be the winter maintenance phase. Here's the upgrade plan :

New Holmes Hobbies trailmaster Sport 550 21T
Locked up RC rear axle shafts
SSD bomber front and Wraith rear driveshafts
JEC Racing Wraith trailing arms
JEC Racing Wraith rear upper links
JEC Racing bomber front links
JEC Racing steering links
Arrma 4mm set screws for the VP swaybar
eBay aluminium wheels with SSD and lockedup scale hardware
Goodyear MT/R 2.2 tires

I also have a Robinson racing steel spur gear with a traxxas slipper spring but I don't know if it's a good upgrade for a brushed bomber.

Winter ride today, went really well but the stock tires have very bad traction in the snow...

I went over an icy cliff and might have bent the front left universal shaft.

I had to stop since the battery was freezing and not outputting enough power.

Makes me want to go brushless with paddles [emoji39]

Started my winter maintenance, so far I might have stripped the VP servo arm, the screw just goes straight through...

Also missing the set screws from my JEC Racing front lower links. Another praise for his customer service, 1 message on Facebook and I have a bag of set screws shipped to Canada!

Happy holidays everyone

While I'm waiting for JEC parts (turns out I have bomber trailing arms instead of Wraith lenght) i'm doing some cleaning in the truck.

My girlfriend got me this new tool and it's awesome!
