Summit RC Rock Crawlers fort wayne, IN

I hope to bring the crawler to the VTA we're hosting this weekend. I plan to fiddle a little bit, as long as I don't have any trouble that is.

In case your bored the hex's from the berg will fit the VTA wheels. I'm sure there is some equalivency <sp> that will allow you to run 2 motors in the VTA class "thumbsup"

I'd like to wish you all's A safe & happy Holiday's too

Have a good one to Seth & any all the rest of you "INDY-Guy's"......And is there any update pic's of the indoor layout taking that was'nt posted up on here yet,... For I've been following this project from the git-go,... And hope to have my own copy of this project of your's done in time for "X-mas" too..... Scoot'er

January 24th, 2009 Summit is having an indoor tnt/comp. Fun starts at 11am, doors should open 9ish. If weather permits, outdoor fun could be had as well. Hope to see most of our locals there. My Berg is ready to have at it.

New Losi 2.2 looks pretty good. Could it be enough to put a shafty out on top next summer?? We'll have to see....

Sorry this is so late, we are running a comp on 1-24-09 in two weeks on the indoor course. start time is 11am

I'll be ready for next Saturday. I tweaked on the wheel package I made and plan to try it a little tonight. Shocks need a little fudging too, hopefully I can fit that in tonight as well.

Ben

Stopped in to play a little on the coarse yesterday to get ready for next weekend. Both my crawlers fell off the table where I couldnt catch them. Broke a couple rod ends, luckily nothing too serious. Hopefully I'll have something for you guys next week. Cya all then.

I'll be there on saturday, Will be my first comp ever, hopin I wont get whooped on too bad!!! Still trying to get my rig set up right, Blew out an output on my dna dig yesterday on my indoor course in my basement. Hopefully the new parts will be here before then!

Sounds good man. Hopefully you can get your parts in time. The Big Mu crawled very good on Friday. Its manners are very consistent and should be very capable. A little more tuning and it should be awesome, time will tell though if I can be awesome at driving it, that will decide how good it is I guess.

Well, I was there today and met up with a fellow RCC member and we had some fun today. I tested out my new Rock Grabber tires and they faired very well on the course today. My new dig parts will be here by wednesday and I plan on stopping back out and testing and tuning some more, Dig would have definitely helped on a few parts there. The new rock layout on the ground is nice, Not to terribly challenging though, I tried several different lines and didn't really have much trouble getting through. I tried the course with my Rock claws and realized how much a larger diameter tire actually helps!

Now heres the question: HOW THE HELL DO YOU CONSISTENTLY DRIVE UP THE ROPE BRIDE WITHOUT FLIPPING OVER ALL THE TIME????? I tried about 3 dozen times going both directions and out of all those times, I was only able to make it up 4 or 5 times. The times I did make it up, it almost seemed effortless. Any tips or tricks??? I'm sure it will be part of the course and I know I'll probably lose about 50 points or so there! PLEASE HELP!!!! If I go fast letting the bridge "wind up" it seems to shoot me up and flip me over to soon. If I crawl slowly up to the edge, I lose traction or flip over slowly. Please Help!!!!

You probably want to lower your CG. My Berg is nails either way I take the bridge. I use the dig to drop in safely. It's possible dude.

Ben

Well, right now my CG is at 3" and Its because of my Tires, Was at 2 5/8 with my claws. The Grabbers are a MUCH bigger tire, Now I was not using my digl at all and I feel that if I used freewheel on it I'd be able to pull up it without any problems, Just gotta drop in carefully and gun it with only front wheels being powered, Should do it just fine. I'll try tweakin the chassis a bit tonight. I'm limited severely on my cg options though, I'm running a DNA slingshot chassis with Losi .6 shocks, If I lower my CG, I'll give up ALOT of articulation, Which is greatly limited on the slingshot anyways.

I'm ready to go. I updated the chassis and got the wheel thing all straightened out. I'm still looking at my body options. i have a few ideas, I just have to see if their legal or not.

See you Saturday. What time you opening up Seth?

Good running today fellas. I still need some practice it seems. The courses need to be a smidge easier too.

Today was a BLAST!! I agree with sportpak too about the course maybe needing to be a bid easier.

There was only a few people who made it through the first course and not one single person made it through the 2nd course.

The last course was nice, It was difficult enough but not too hard.

It was great getting to meet some of you guys, and Hopefully we can have some more little comps like this. Today was my first comp and I had a blast!! My DNA Slingshot Chassis and HPI Grabber Tires worked really well!! Hopefully someone cleans that darn oil off the rocks!!:-P:ror:

Maybe we could figure a time to have another GTG in the near future!

Hear are the finishing positions for Saturday.

1. Jesse LeBoeuf - 66
2. Seth Barrand - 67
3. Mark Carter - 96
4. Ben Freiburger - 96
5. Josh Luckadoo - 97
6. Colton Barrand - 100
7. Jeff Barney - 105
8. John Marshall - 110
9. Shawn Reed - 114
10. Joe bandor - 122
11. Dale Monroe - 138

Not to bad for our first indoor comp! I agree that the course could have been a little bit less challenging, but think of how much better you will be next time. Jesse Leboeuf gets the hat trick award on the win!!! He was trailing seth by 11 points and pulls off a -2 on the last course and takes the win by one point! great job Jesse! Also Mark Carter started the 3rd course in 8th place and pulled off a great run to place him in 3rd. WOW! great run Mark!

Thanks to Jeff, Joe, for setting up the rocks and working on the course. Both guys have put a lot of time into that back room.

Thanks for the fun, I never thought that I would win this comp, It was my very first one!!! my DNA Chassis and HPI tires really worked great I guess!! It was ALOT of fun!! I doubt I'll do as good again the next time, I really think I just got lucky!"thumbsup"

If you guys ever need any help setting anything up, Let me know, and also if anyone else plans on heading up there to play on the rocks, post it up and I'll probably meet ya there if I can!
