Summit RC Rock Crawlers fort wayne, IN

No answer on cost yet but I'd bet it would be less than $30, Seth is working on the final details should have it all posted shortly

Last points comp this Sunday and the last local Comp before the
state championships.
It's turned into a couple of close races in the series with 1 drop figured in:
Top 3 are close this has been a fun uphill battle to catch the early dominant leader

Seth 48
Ken 57
Brian 79

Pretty much a lock for the 4th place spot unless someone pulls a perfect run, this youngster shows that this genre is suitable to any age, and a little practice and patience goes...........ahh who am I fooling just point it and floor it :)
Colton 210

34 points over 4 drivers for that 5th and last trophy spot position. Will John 'the sleeper' pull a perfect run and topple Colton, or maybe Joe will sneak back into the running with Colt, The MuMU is better than ever what will it do with more practice, and don't count out the tuber of Josh just waiting for someone to point out.
John 268
Joe 270
Ben 295
Josh 302

Tune in Sunday as the battle unfolds:ror:

Well it's over, the first series has come to a close, and not without an exciting finale. And early move on the first course Saw the 3rd place Brian move into the temporary season lead, He managed to hold it through the second course with a sweet move to clear the finish gate and move to the Bonus. Going into the Finale course it was Brian, Seth, and Me in the pending series order. The entire season was literary coming down to the last course and only a 10 point spread covered the top 3.

The Hill Climb was fair but tough, a few unique changes to the flow saw interesting lines and some awesome feats of maneuverability and luck.
Dale Monroe was an early good runner making it to the 6th of 10 gates before pointing out,

Colton made it to Gate 8. and had a fine season for only 7 years old. (I think, Seth gave a few conflicting ages)

Next was Seth, to gate 5 with only 1 reverse and the alternate...then a gate....a few more reverses and a couple of edge of the seat moments... then the first to finish with only seconds to spare.

Then it was my turn through the alternate, and passed gate 5 clean, Gate 6 was tricky and resulted in a few reverses and a reposition going to 7, then on to finish all 10 with a few more reverses and again only a few seconds left on the clock. I was the only one to progess successfully through all gates. :)

Then Brian with a small lead for the day and series only needed to do as well as Seth and I... to gate 5 fairly clean then an excellent move through 5....and the rest went to crap, upside down gate on 6, a reposition to 7, then a gate on 9, he did finish and was only the third driver past 6 on on to completion

So how did the series turn out....pending official party recount  here are the top 6

Ken 111
Seth 112
Brian 126
Colt 313
Joe 380
Ben 401

Also thought it was interesting I calculated the average points per driver over all comps (avg. includes drop)
Ken 36.2
Seth 35.8
Brian 41.8
Colt 85
Joe 106
Ben 110

Had fun today even though the stuff was pretty difficult. I see some changes coming to the Berg. I don't know if I'll have them installed by State, but there's a few things to work on.

All in all, this season turned out great, especially for our first. Next year should be pretty crazy.

Special thanks to Summit Raceway and the dudes that put the extra time in to make things happen.

Special thanks, with sugar on top, to Panther for the awesome door prizes all season and the gift certificate I won today.

Ben

For those interested construction has begun on the Summit Rock Indoor course. Base frame and structure is close to completion, still need to determine the running surface composition.

What a difference a few days make. The indoor course now has a shape and decernable terrain. Joe has done an awesome job on some of the detail and looks like with a little help it shold be ready to crawl by the end of the month. Maybe a halloween themed crawl on halloween weekend?
