Summit RC Rock Crawlers fort wayne, IN

Miller- He's just trying to stay out of the shafty's way. That thing was ARTR last time we seen it...........whats the deal shelf queen?

New pics of the Berg...

I changed the mounts on the axles and had to make a new backbone. I really like this setup compared to my last. Wheels turned out pretty sweet.

I hope to hang electronics tonight or tomorrow. I have a party to go to on Sunday, so I'm out for practice.

Next week all I need to do is body mounts and finalize electronics and it should be ready to shove up someone's ass."thumbsup"

I'm not happy with all the hodge-podged hardware I got going on, but I can change that out as we go.

I ran a drill into my finger working on the axle mounts. Totally dog-meated it, but I got the hole in and tapped.

I think I've come up with a way to minimize the axle steer this thing is going to have. I need to look around for the proper hardware to see if I can find what I want without having to make it from scratch.

Good things come to those who wait.......

Ben

Comp #4 this weekend, Get charged and ready. Who's going to make it?

Just checked with Vegas and here are the odds

2:1 Ben won't be ready:roll:.
1:1 Colton beats Joe
2:1 Seth won't win:lol:
10:1 Brian will pull some damn lucky bounce/roll/flip that will progress through a gate
100:1 there will be a change or two in the program
10000000:1 everyone has fun.

I'll be there. The Berg should be ready to destroy the competition. I have to make 1 bracket, body mounts, and adjust the link lengths.

Last time I saw it it needed body mounts & link length adjustment
Now you found something else

You better get it running before it needs axles and wheels

Truck might be ready but the driver is about 4 comps behind. I have my Shafty meat grinder ready to make another 6+ pounds of hamberger.........hehe haha. Come get some!!!

The last time you saw it, it needed to be completely rebuilt. It's all new. Steering works pretty good, I got the switch thing working, the wheelbase is legal, and I figured out where I was getting some binding.

Ended up being I had too much angle on the links. The Revo ends would bind when the chassis flexed because they didn't want to pivot any farther in the cup. I made some spacers and initially it feels freer then it did. Now the links lengths need adjusted. I don't have near the flex that the AX had, but now I have that much less flex to figure out how to control or put to good use.

I do love the ground clearance. I took on my front step head on this weekend. It's probably 6-7 inches and square edged, one hop and it went right up. My old AX would never do that. So just screwing around, I'm at least 10X better then I was. We're yet to see if that's enough to amount to anything. I'm quietly optimistic.8)

Im gonna have to miss this one guys. Got a side job this weekend to make a little extra $$. So it looks like Colton will have to beat up on some else this weekend. Hope the turn out is great!

Sorry to here it Joe:-(

Colton has been working on his smack talk, I think last time Ben ran, he was his target, maybe Ben's new ride will be good enough to give Colton a little pressure

I'm kicking the little mans ass this weekend!!!

The MuMu Berg v1.5 is ready to go for Sunday. It's a much improvement over the v1.0. However, shortly after this comp I'm tearing it down and busting out the MuMu v2.0.

The v2.0 will set the mark for all stick chassis'. It's greatest inovation will (should) vertually eliminate axle steer, which will then help free up a little more articulation. I don't want to do it, but after fiddling with the v1.5, I think it's a mandatory revision. It basically is going to be a totally new truck. Hardware is in the mail as we speak.

Stay tuned punks.....

LOL! I'll bring the chips. Maybe we can get the Hustler to bring the beer.

I'm still optimistic, and I'm really excited I finally figured out how I'm going to fix the primary issue I'm having with the current geometry. All this peer pressure to crawl has had me in a big rush to finish this thing before school starts. I basically have 1 week to finally put a nail in this thing. v2.0 is what I'm going to have, good or bad. I think you'll like it enough to buy one of your own.

I'm coming to the realization that we are crawling RC cars, not real trucks. Because it can't happen in real trucks, doesn't automatically mean it can't work for RC. That's why I'm liking this crazy stick thing. It's pretty simple, yet acts, looks, and feels like it's an RC car that's designed to crawl over rocks. The application fits and it's the first crawler I've liked.

Maybe I listened to too much Hendrix this weekend. The album "Electric Lady Land" does weird stuff to me........

I got the alterations done to the Berg. No more axle steer. Nice smooth action. I may finally be happy-ish. I drew up some different shock mounts....

See ya'll early on Sunday.
