Well, i'm thinking the 4pl might fit my budget a lil better, any good points for it?
I ordered my 65.1 gearboxes over a week ago and still have'nt seen them, I know jp is for sale, but i hope it has'nt closed down.

Nope, it should work just fine, but like I mentioned earlier, a thumbwheel seems to work best for me for rear steer. The switches on the 4PL might work just fine for you...it's all personal preference.

DUH, THE PINIONS ARE DIFFERANT.:roll: THE GEARBOXES CAME WITH 12 T PINIONS. I ORDERED A 13 & 14 T PINIONS. I WILL BE GETTING 35T MOTORS SO I HOPE THESE WILL WORK OK.

Yep, those 65:1 cases have an extra gear in them. The pinions are almost normal size (although, not a mesh that you can find in any LHS, RC4WD uses some sort of weird cut on them :roll.

Personally, I just use the stock pinions that came with them (with my 35T motors)...and dial my transmitter accordingly."thumbsup"

i'm still not sure i should start cutting , theres a few pennies invested in tires and glues and,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i would think a "good" pair of scissors would be needed too.

Take a look at my Superdonas, they are right at the 8" mark. That will help you with cutting the sidewalls....not sure about the rovers though.

Here's some shots of some I made and one I used as a guide. The rovers have 36 rows of tread. You will use one hole tire and one half tire. Just make sure to cut the half tire so that it matches up to the hole tire as best as possible. The tire in the second pic used 19 rows of tread, but left a little more on the outside diameter of the Moab sidewalls.

A STEP CLOSER AND NO TURNING BACK NOW :shock:, THE ROVERS CUT PRETTY EASY. I KNOW THIS ALL HAS BEEN THE EASY PART, WILL START GLUING SOON. "thumbsup" GOT ABOUT 4 HOURS IN THEM SO FAR.
