-Lunar Bound- Moon Buggy Build

Waiting for paint to fully cure before touching requires the ultimate patience lol. Project looks fantastic... love the grill and surround/ tube aesthetic... and painting the grill black = perfection.
Thats so true lol
The majority of my paint defects are me just being too exited to reassemble things.

I did a final once over loctiting all of the screws on the axles. I already had the steering bushings/shoulder screws work loose while handling it on the workbench lol. Let see If I can skip having those come loose on the first outing.
I did some wire management, the servo wires just barely reach the receiver. Luckily it was already located smack dab in the middle.

I've got the grill setup under an incandescent lamp so It will hopefully dry quicker. I think I'll give it until tomorrow before I risk handling it again. After that I should be able to call it pretty much done at least I think 🤔

following this in the background, looks awesome so far (y)

Haven’t checked in on this in a while, it’s looking good
Thanks Guys!

I put the grill out of my mind for a day so the paint could fully cure and put it all together yesterday.

I glued in the grill center with E6000. I prefer using a flexible glue over CA which is brittle. Something glued on with a flexible glue can take a hit without potentially popping loose like a brittle glue.

I took it out on my rock pile last night. The knuckle weights are a welcome addition, I can definitely climb steeper obstacles now. My foams might be a bit too soft with the extra weight. I might be able to steal some foams from a set of tires thats waiting on new wheels.

And the big payoff is a clean workbench ready for a new project and a new mess!

I think the last upgrade I'd love to do is change to a radio setup that can ditch the modes setup (FWS, 4WS, Crab & RWS) and do independent steering with a knob. I'm still torn on what radio actaully fits that bill. I want it to feel natural but I hold the radio in an odd manor.
