Rant Thread

Haha.
Someone goes on a message board thread that is made to entertain people.
Then someone gets mad at a light hearted post that was intended to entertain some of the people that read it. But unfortunately that post missed the mark.
f it annoys you enough about what some other people post on a entertainment message thread then you should probably rethink your daily routine and take a break from worrying about what others post and relax yourself.
:ror:

it annoys you enough to quote and reply to my comment, so whats your point again?

people getting upset over stickers is funny. so i replied for entertainment. :flipoff:

Went to Walmart yesterday. As I'm walking to the door, I see the very first handicapped parking spot occupied but two young gentlemen in an SUV. The driver looked to be 18, 19 maybe. They did have a placard hanging from the rear view mirror but both looked young, fit and healthy. But then who am I to question one's health without knowing all the circumstances? Maybe they dropped off a relative so who knows. Or maybe they were just taking up a spot they shouldn't have been in.

When I get inside, I now see three young kids all taking the handicapped electric courtesy scooters/carts. Now "maybe" one of them has a handicap, sports injury, but three of them all together, all coming in at the same time? One of the Walmart workers questioned the third gentlemen (maybe 16 years old) and he pulled up his pants leg and points to his knee. Looked perfect to me.

If you're handicapped, then God Bless ya. I don't mind parking further away, I don't mind paying more taxes to provide wheelchair access sidewalks and curbs. I don't mind getting out of someone's way in the store who may require a scooter to allow them to get out an about. But for goodness sakes, if you are not handicapped, don't take advantage of parking spots for someone who is or take up one of the few electric carts.

Oh, and by the way.....ever hear of karma?

That shit pisses me off. They walk in and out fine but take scooters. Handicapped parking or not.

It makes my eye twitch when a handy capped person parks in a handy capped parking space, and someone able-bodied gets out of the car to take care of business.

I had this sort of happen the other-other day. A guy I work with was parked at the first handicapped parking space at Walmart, he’s not even slightly handicapped,:x he did slip on the ice and shin himself on the steps on his way into the doghouse, it was pretty bad, he’s got an 8x3 bruise, and a welt on his shin. Anyway he beat me inside cause I had to look for the reusable grocery bags behind the seat, when I got inside I see him taking the only electric scooter, while an elderly lady looked on in disbelief, I shook my head as I walked by and said did you get a placard for your bruise, I want to see your doctors note.

if you curious he didn’t give up the scooter cause I seen him in electronics taking up both sides of the aisle at the games shelves. He only 45 years old.

When my eldest was a teen, she made the mistake of telling me she and her friends would ride the scooters for fun. Holy crap did I rip her a new one.

Just remember that quite often disabilities can be invisible as well.

As an example, I've got a friend (early 40's) that has a very very severe cardiac condition. He looks completely healthy, he walks completely normally but he has a handicap pass because if he had to walk 150 or 200 yards it might literally kill him. He parks in the handicap spot, walks into the store and uses a scooter.

To look at this fellow, he appears completely able-bodied and he would be exactly who you are talking about. But we all have to remember, we don't know that person's story.

You're a good Dad! Kids will be kids, but somewhere they need to learn and tough love from a good parent can make all the difference.

Ok, cool. She won against them. That doesn’t make it right though.
A man should NEVER be allowed in a women’s sport and vice versa.
You say that like it's a fundamental property of the universe that libtards are in denial about. Sports are a human invention, and they're only gender-segregated because some people in the late Victorian era decided they should be. Then those people died and other people took over, who can decide differently if they so choose.

I bet you were one of those little boys who got angry when a girl wanted to join your game of tag. I wonder if you're still one of those little boys who gets angry when a girl wants to drive a RC truck near you.

EDIT: Oh ffs, I just noticed who I'm talking to. Now I'm certain of my previous statement.

Please tell me you don't believe that PR spin.....
Why would I believe the opposing spin instead? There's no evidence to support the idea that the books were discontinued purely because of racist content despite being popular and profitable. Can you name any of the books that were discontinued? No Googling; I want to see whether you actually cared about those books enough to know their names before you heard the news story about their discontinuation. If the only problem was some potentially-offensive illustrations, they would simply edit the illustrations and keep printing them, with no announcement at all.

So you agree with a man dominating in women’s sports? I think you do...

Haha, it’s hilarious you automatically assume I hate women/girls. I most definitely don’t lmao. But, your little brain won’t take that into consideration.

I am willing to bet that if I never said I was 15, that y’all would have more respect for me and not automatically think I’m always in the wrong and that my opinion doesn’t matter. You guys know who you are.

I had no idea you were 15 and based on the things you've said here I have absolutely zero respect for you. So I guess that's a bet you'd lose.

On the opposite side the coin, my last girlfriend's father had leg issues due to bad circulation and a bad knee. He had a placard, but he only used it when it was slippery/icy out, as a fall would likely mess him up badly. When it was nice out, he saved the spot for someone he felt needed more than he did.

Good old government of NH IT in action...

I am eligible for Covid vaccination now that I just turned 50  Today was the first day of registration for my group. It only took me about 15 tries to get through the website's pre-registration, as the final page where I confirm all my info would not load properly, therefore not allowing me to proceed. Even worse, the info I entered did not get saved, so I had to answer all the questions all over again.

Cool! We agree on something! I don't have respect and/or time for people that automatically hate somebody else because of their POV on something.

Who said I hate you? I said I don't respect you, because of the baseless ignorant hate filled rhetoric you're repeating. I'm not surprised you don't appreciate the difference. Also I'm confused, you're using "POV" to describe your stance on some really important topics, as if its something outside of your control. Your position on bigotry and misogyny and discrimination isn't something you're born with, its something you choose. You are 100% responsible and thus 100% culpable for those choices. So what else are people supposed to base an opinion on?

So, don't take any of this too hard... I've always been courteous towards you.

But... You're throwing out your opinions to people that are DECADES older than you. There's not one guy here that didn't have "convictions" about things when they were 15. But every single one of us has undergone so much actual real world experience, that the beliefs and opinions that we thought were so absolutely on point when we were teenagers, don't even matter anymore. It's because at that point in our lives, we simply were not able to back up the things that we thought we believed in or were sure about. Like you, most things that we were passionate about, we in fact knew very little about.

Indeed, some of the ideals, morals, and beliefs that we possessed way back then may still be part of us today, but the difference is that the guys here have spent a lifetime figuring out why those feelings that they felt way back then, either still hold up or don't. It's life experience that creates who a man is and simply put, you do not have that accomplished veteran status yet. It will take you a looong time to reach that point. And because of that, you're going to be met with a good deal of push-back when you throw down opinions as if you've been a contributing member of society for decades. It's not that people automatically hate on you because of your age... It's that when you come across with such strong opinions and passionate convictions about a whole host of topics that you really know very little about, you're just not going to be taken too seriously. Also... arguing about it or becoming defensive typically does very little to help your case.

Again... Take what I say with a grain of salt and I'm not saying any of this out of disrespect for you. I'm simply presenting to you another perspective that I hope might occasionally help you when dealing with older folks.

Also, when it comes to certain topics:

"It's better to remain silent and [maybe] be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt."

I'm not suggesting you're a fool... just a quote that came to mind here lol. Take care, dude.

Yeah, I completely understand and agree with what you are saying.

I'm here for the RC stuff, not the political stuff. I'm just gonna stay out of those threads and not start this crap over again like I have multiple times.

Thanks for being a stand up man "thumbsup"

Who said I hate you? I said I don't respect you, because of political bullshit

Ok, I was a little broad saying hate.

Honestly, I don't even care anymore. We believe what we want, and there's no problem with that. There's no point in arguing about it. We may not agree, but it is what it is. I don't hate you, I don't not have respect for you, I'm not going to not respond to your threads. political views don't impact my opinion on our tiny trucks. Anyways, I am done here talking about this political bullshit.

Sometimes the level of complacency at my work is shocking.

We had a "thing" fail, which, if not fixed properly, would throw all schedules into total chaos. So, it is important that it gets fixed properly. Today was the day that it is getting its final work done so that it can be reinstalled and tested. This is something that has been worked on for a couple of weeks, and it was always known that the last step in putting this whole mess back together was to purge and pressurize with nitrogen. So, it would seem that any one of the six people, three engineers and three technicians, would have thought to make sure we had nitrogen on hand, along with all of the supporting parts and pieces. Nope... I get frantic phone calls this morning asking if the nitrogen I use was available, to which I let them know that I don't use nitrogen. So, close to 20 people this morning are pulled off their jobs so we can all scurry around like those three blind mice, looking for items that should have been staged and ready over a week ago.

If this were the first time, I could somewhat understand, we all stumble once in a while. But, this is getting to be our normal routine. More annoying, is these same morons who can't seem to think around corners and plan crap down a sewer pipe get very annoyed is someone like me askes if they have their shit in one sock, and are ready for an upcoming evolution...

I gotta quote this as it's semi relevant to my rant.

I don't see why people have to be so petty. You can still have no respect for someone but not hate them. Work is a great example. I work with a Blue Falcon who I have less than zero respect for and think is a complete tool but I do not hate them and will work with them at work. Same goes for political stuff. I don't hate biden, pelosi, shumer, etc but I have less than zero respect for them (and would mind if an airplane with them all crashed in the birmuda triangle). Same goes for the people that actively support their actions or can't think on their own and just vote party lines on both sides. No hate, just no respect. Not going to do anything negitive to them. I'll share a hobby, I'll work with them but it doesn't mean I have to agree with them.

So many people let stuff like that get in the way of everything, especially politics. For some reason people think that because you don't agree with their politics you are their enemy. Not true. You can get along just fine but it doesn't mean you have to like them. You might end up best buddies!

People my age seem to be pretty useless. My boss hinted about it being increasingly difficult to even get people to apply for a job. I've heard folks talking about how they rather just keep getting money from the gov then work. Some even say they make more leeching than working.

I'm just so tired of all this crap. People are allowing themselves to be divided. People are blindly following garbage being spewed without thinking. Keep it together people!

I'm tired of the psychological effects of things right now (still working on getting over loosing a friend in the worst way because of this), tired of the economic effects, tired of the physical effects and tired of the negitive social impacts. I just want to be able to go get groceries without threats (medically unable to wear any face covering) or being treated like a criminal.

Also tired of companies blaming their incompetence on such and such. No, Fedex, you were incompetent 5 years ago and nothing has changed except your prices have gone up.

I'm turning onto a very crochety old man and I've got easily another 50 years before I make it to that age!

I'm glad I have a good group of close friends.
