Rock Crawler
Haven't touched an RC in years. Jato lured me back in with the cheap drift car. Had a similar FC3 back in the day. Also picked up an AGF RC gyro, and the Kobalt mini stack toolbox for the workbench.
Almost!Since Jato didn't do it. This was worth the price of admission alone. LOL
Not gonna lie, I had to have the mini stackable tool chest just because it's cool as hell. Not sure which is cooler the kobalt mini tool chest aloe the drifters
Hopefully you post a detailed build thread on this one as the Mercury chassis isn't common! And I'm interested to hear about the quality and durability of it.Purchased last week but sharing because I am broke for Labor Day deals. The Mercury kit was on sale for $240 (from $300) before this weekend which is why I made the buy. This is 1 of 7 future build ideas that are on paper, which I will input on a wheel spin app and use that method to decide what I will build next when the time comes. A couple build ideas are really close to completion and the rest have minimal parts achieved.

Dammit @JatoTheRipper
A bit? I suck at this. LOL And it pisses me off because I've always been good at RC, can wheelie the shit out of a moto, etc. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO THIS DAMMIT!Awesome! I got the steering kit and different wheels and tires and haven't used either. I installed the DasMikro v5 gyro and went to town. But like I said, I can also drift it completely stock. It's just that the steering hunts more and isn't smooth and that makes drifting a bit more challengine.
Interesting. Maybe if you shared some video I could see where and why you're struggling. For me it just kinda clicked.A bit? I suck at this. LOL And it pisses me off because I've always been good at RC, can wheelie the shit out of a moto, etc. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO THIS DAMMIT!
I always kill the internal gyro for sure. Wasn't aware there was a power boost button. Now I gotta learn all over again!!Interesting. Maybe if you shared some video I could see where and why you're struggling. For me it just kinda clicked.
Ensure you disabled the internal gyro. I have to do this after each time I cycle the power of the car and it's kind of annoying, but not a huge deal. Then what I do is turn the power all the way up by clicking the A button and you just have to learn to control your trigger finger. Throttle control is everything. Smooth and slight inputs on the steering are also important. And you have to find a gyro gain setting that suits you.
Yep! Click the A button. It gives you a noticeable power boost. That makes it easier to blip the throttle and get the tail end out, but also forces you to learn better throttle control or you'll spin out.I always kill the internal gyro for sure. I'll try and get some vid at some point.
Just checked, my car seems to default to full power at startup. But I'll double check each time. Easy to hear the difference in wheel speed. Thanks tim!Yep! Click the A button. I’d be curious to know how accurate that GPS tracker is.A portable $6 usb powered gps to figure out how fast I'm going. Some components to rebuild a 36v battery, and some bigger bearings, all for the "hauling wagon"
