Optic Kit Coming

Spent the afternoon wheeling the VS 410 Pro, and I just detest straight axles in our terrain. As much as I want an H10, until they drop a portal, I'm gonna have to wait.
I didnt mind straight axles when i lived there, but at that point we were just going from the og scx10 to scx10ii so the additional ground clearance gained there was drastic. Some of our courses here are man made and have a bunch of jagged softball sized rocks. Annoying af with straight axles.

Looks like it wouldn't be hard at all to convert to portals.

Just ordered a kit, second batch I would think since it just came back into stock. Still has the wrong 3rd member for the rear axle -just an FYI.

Assuming most people on here who were going to order one already have.

Whats the problem with the 3rd member?

I got off work, went to get back to working on this kit assembling the rear axle. Everything goes together fine, but when I spin the pinion after about 1/2 to 3/4 rotation of the ring gear its very very notchy and has resistance...

Tore down and re assembled multiple times...same thing. Thought too much grease, nope, over tightened screws, nope...cant get the notchy part corrected.

After about an hour, I tore it apart and let it sit. I thought Vanquish was premium, the best, far better than anyone else. I guess I was lead to believe that and had very high expectations. Already regretting buying the Phoenix kit if this is what I am to look forward too...As much hate as Axial gets at least you have the expectation of issues, so if you do encounter some you kinda already knew about it going in...

My whole day has been shit. Terrible wind storms destroyed trees, blew out windows in my barn, trash blown everywhere from everywhere and everyone else. Was looking forward to zoning out and getting some work done with this kit and relaxing...

Maybe I should have posted this in the rant thread...

The front and rear third-member are different parts. People are receiving two fronts or two rears by mistake.

Are you pulling the pinion gear outwards when checking mesh?

I came up with a fix for the gear mesh

Yea, I have tried pushing/pulling the pinion. Its fine for almost a full turn then gets crunchy. Its almost like the ring gear is out of round? Whats strange is when the third member is out of the axle housing, it feels fine. Ive swapped the bearings side to side, the bearing carriers side to side, tore down and re assembled a bunch of times. Spent over an hour trying different things. Finally got fed up and packed it full of grease and slapped it together. It has some crunchyness to it but its the best I can get it. So its either going to go or blow. Comparing to the front axle, there is just a hint of crunch in that one you have to really be focused on it to find it.
