Why doesn't it have a place competing? It's scale, I don't see what the big deal is?
If you feel its scale or not, if its not approved its not competing. I hate to put it that way but that's the way it is! We want to have fun with this event, and to show off what people have built, and this would certainly do that, It isn't the type of vehicle we're looking for.....

I really don't want to step on you're toes over it or discourage you from building it, but as its described It most likely won't be competing in the scheduled events.

But by all means you could drive it any other time"thumbsup"

I saw this addressed earlier in the thread, but did not see a definative answer. Is there going to be an articulation limit on the scalers? I saw there was one last year, but not in this years rules. Are we going to have to hit the RTI ramp? If we are, could someone tell me what the limit it is.

Does anyone know if you can get away with out running doors if you have a cage with door bars?

Also is track width measured outside to outside of the tires or center to center?

I can tell you that there will be no RTI used in the tech in, as far as Ben and I have talked there has been no mention of articulation limit, I would figure that with where we are running the event an overly flexy truck might hurt you....

I don't think doors would be an issue, buT I would like to see a pic of what you're thinking, and we're measuring from the center of the tire to center of tire"thumbsup"

Sweet I'll keep trashing then.:)
I'll get some picks up as soon as I get it rolling."thumbsup"

slobin3d

Heres a pic of the truck in question with no doors.
What do think? Will it be ok?

The rear doors will be left and the front doors will have door bars on the exo cage if Im allowed to run no doors.

I don't think it would be a problem, have you look at building and interior?

Ya Im kinda at this point just trying to work out suspension and steering issues so as to not inter fear with the interior. And thats not to mention the trans drive shaft issues I seem to be running into. But hey I like the idea and look of the truck so far so I'll figure it out Im sure.LOL

I was wondering about the reposition rule. Are we following the current USRCCAWTFMMDNNSETIDDRR rules on that? I vote that we do as it makes the courses so much more fun and eliminates the crap of someone trying to reposition to get by a gate or a difficult section.

Just curious.

If I have it my way the judges will do any repositioning"thumbsup"

I totally agree but when you reposition it would be cool to use the current rules for competion where you place the rig back to the last gate that you cleared. That way a driver cannot call for a reposition just to hit a better line to clear and obstical.

You dig?

How many points is a fuel cell?

Same question on a fire exting... ?

What about mudflaps and ladies ?

On board fire supresion system ?

Hitch or ball mount ?

Speaking of balls...truck nutz ??:)

Knock offs/spinners ?

Locking hubs ?

True scale rims ?

Do any of these fall under a catigory already listed ??

Trying to hit -25 and need just a few extra points, dont want to clutter up the rig with pointless additions.

Some of that stuff would go under OMFG;-) once you get to -25 its just gravy... or RC porn:lol:

bow chikcy bow wow

Things like the fire ext I would categorize in tools, #5 ball hitch would be included with the bumper, wheels are wheels, no deduction, locking hubs? true working ones or the look alikes? the fuel cell might fall under interior I'll have to talk with Ben. If once we determine what category everything falls it will be like any other, if you have one in that category you receive the max deduction no matter how may of those Items you have. that way people won't strap on 25 tamiya wrenches:lol:;-)

BTW sorry for the slow response I've been working out of town and the misses won't let me take the laptop with me:-(

stupid Myspace:roll:

One question.....

Points for scale drive train? I know its not a big deal but what if someone was to run the motor under the hood and have a scale T-case? Does that count for anything or is it "scale porn"?
