Official MTB / Mountain Biking Chit Chat

So far I'm liking it a lot. I took it out for a proper ride on Saturday evening and I think once I get use to it, it'll really be good. I'm use to a 150mm full squish with a dropper post, so a hardtail without one is a bit different. My coworker has a 26" 456 and really loves it.

i'm running 135mm on mine right now and love the set-up. Although I have never taken my hardtail on a gravity oriented ride. I just feel more comfortable on my fully going down the hill.

I added 5psi to my fork, kept my shock at 245psi and rode DuPont on Sunday with our local group. Ran two runs on Hickory Mountain and the new Ridgeline trail. Ridgeline is awesome!! I aired out the Fuel EX probably about as much as it will ever see in it's lifetime, and still had a bit of travel left so I'm going to leave it alone for now, couldn't be happier. We did have one of our group go down hard on the second run down Ridgeline and had to get an elbow stitched up, but he was adamant about the fact he had a good time and it was all good.

Haha, i was on a downhill run and went over a roller and i heard a crunch then the seat tilted back some. So i knew what happened right away. The Crack is in the back of the post and was from compression. It cracked the rest of the way and looks like it does from pulling it out of the seat tube.

Sold my dropper, just didn't get into it.

Ordered a raceface next sl post and some i9 wheels to go with it. Hehe

Eh, I'm no fast guy so I love the dropper, especially in places like Pisgah. Was saving to have some wheels built up on I9 hubs, then my axle seal went out in my truck. Stupid priorities.

Axle seals are only $30....and if you can tear down a bike, you can replace an axle seal."thumbsup"

Took the bike to one of my favorite trails this weekend.....Madrone at Canyon Lake. Beautiful day and fun riding!

I appreciate the advice Jeremy. But, I don't have all the needed tools, and the proper fix on my particular truck is a bit more involved due to the design from the videos I've watched. It's just not something I'm comfortable monkeying with, and I also hate working on cars and trucks, not sure why, I just do.
