^^NICE!!
I had a great day at Tsali today! It was a bit cool as the wind was howling off the lake, temps were in the 60s, but felt like 40s.
Started out a little rough, as I took a spill at the creek crossing at the 3 mile mark on the left loop. I was up the rocks and roots on the other side, or so I thought. Somehow I slammed forward (hit a root with the front that was buried in leaves is my guess) into my stem, then continued on over the bars in sort of slow motion, onto the tire, then down to the roots and rocks below. After making sure I was OK, then I was pissed and proceeded to attack everything there.
I made all the little rock garden and stump section by the lake for the first time, made the uphill switchback going to the overlook, and even the loose, rutted climb full of baby heads that's been my nemesis every trip there. I felt strong, fast, unstoppable. This was probably my last ride of 2014, so it was a good one to end on. "thumbsup"
Also, the tires and tubes made a HUGE difference. None of that feeling of dragging an anchor around today, nope, today pigs were flying. :lmao:
This is the climb I always struggle with, it's worse at the bottom, very rutted, full of baby heads and loose soil with a covering of dry leaves right now. I spun the tire more than once coming up. There's an arrow pointing to the bottom.
I added my rock to the totem after cleaning the climb.
I always go to the overlook for a break and a snack. I may grow tired of it eventually, but I doubt it.
Set a couple more PRs on the fatty too
