Ride was phenomenal today.

^^Very nice tedo!

Decided to stay here and work tomorrow, so I could ride today before heading home for the holidays. I'm a selfish bastard, I know. :D

Buddy of mine was supposed to come ride with me, but had to bail due to family holiday stuff. Oh well, I needed a break from Tsali anyway. Today pretty much confirmed my initial thoughts on the fat bike and tech stuff, on the one tech trail Jack Rabbit has. It simply makes it much, much easier, period. And I still stand by the fact that all that traction just makes everything more fun. I'm 100% sold on fat biking now, even as an only bike, and it has totally changed my view on what bike I want next.

On to the pics

Found this creepy thing part way up the upper ridge trail

Some good views up there with the leaves off the trees

I rode in wet sand (no pics of that) and lake bed for a while today, just because I could. I'm shocked at how far I made it, walking in it was a slippy, slimy mess

This got soft in a hurry

I also learned that when fat tires cake with wet sand and mud (some of it's gone already), they weigh somewhere around 25lbs each :lmao:

rupps5, I use either the Windows snipping tool, or the Mac equivalent depending on which OS I'm in, then save the screenshot and upload it to imgur. Nice ride BTW!

Wow, those looks fun. Unfortunately we don't have much of a trail system in the city where I live. Closest one is about an hour drive. Nevertheless I enjoy riding where ever it may be. Here are a couple of NOT so epic picture.lol

I went for a ride around 4 AM. I couldn't sleep.lol. A little dark...

This road will take me 1674 miles straight to New York. Got another 1672 miles left and i'm there.

^^LOL

ped, it's about an hour to any decent trails here also, totally worth it though. That looks fun nonetheless, we used to bomb downtown Houston at night when I lived there, and it was pretty fun until the cops started running us off in later years.

Just got some good news that I have some cash incoming that I wasn't counting on. So, I'm starting a savings fund for the squishy bike next year, and selling off some other toys to fund it as this is really the only hobby I take part in anymore on a regular basis. Between that and tax season OT, I should have a decent amount my the time the good part of riding season rolls around next year.

In case anybody's interested, Art's Cyclery has the RockShox Reverb Stealth Dropper Post on sale for $299 and Chain Reaction has the standard dropper for $250. Seems like a good deal?
