New SSD SCX10 axle housings

I'd lik to see some setup pics with XR mods and shaved housings. I took the ol trusty dremel to mine last night. It was too dark for pics but I will snap some today and load them here.

The first thing i thought is that these need a shave to the bottom/front edge of the pumpkins. You do yours first lol

Rpp has been out of stock for quite some time does anybody know another place to look? Also has anyone done an xr mod/ xr width as well?

Ya I guess I should have done a before an after. I removed the gussets on bottom and smoothed out all the corners and edges.

I had mine out on the trail not to long ago. Had a nasty spill and landed on the front wheel/front bumper. Bent the frame and sheared off the ears of the C-hub. Everyone asked if the housing broke, "Nope, just a c-hub" "thumbsup" .

I was scrambling so much to get back on the trail with the others, I didn't take pics of the breakage, so if it didn't happen, I don't mind. can go grab a pic of the bumper that is moved over towards the driver's side and down a little on the passenger's side...

Inspected them later, while doing some foam work, and found no signs of stress that could lead to failure any time soon. Very happy with these housings. Looking forward to trying out the steering components offered for these as well.

I worked out a deal for this new set , Just installed them today in my Ftoy with a set of king shocks. The fit and finish is perfect.

as others have noted here, these axles are set up with the diffs on the opposite side and now my truck runs in reverse. Cant flip the diffs to the other side with these axles, reversing it in my radio bypasses the esc drag brake, no option in the esc software to reverse the motor, and switching the motor wires is not an option form my setup. So, I need an esc with motor reversing, or need to flip the transmission.

Love these axles overall I just really wish I knew this ahead of time so I could plan around it. I know it is well known on this thread but I didnt even notice or think to consider it. SSD maybe consider making sure this bit of info is noted in the manual and on the RPP webpage it is being sold on? i think its pretty important!

Why can't you reverse your motor wires? Running lots of timing on your motor? Reversing the power from your esc is still going to run the motor in the opposite direction.

ProfessorCake, I agree that it would have been nice to know before buying, but mine are installed and very nice axle housings. Best solution is just flip the tranny. If your scx is built stock as per kit instructions Then tranny is already non flipped and axles bolt right on.
