New SSD SCX10 axle housings

the holes on the stock Axial one do not line up with the SSD holes. I was messing around with mine and was going to just drill my own holes in the plate but found the SSD one for $5 so I just bought it. I think it is part number SSD00057 don't quote me on that number though

Ill pull out the calipers and fire up the drill press.

This is how I've done it for a while. Should apply similar/all concepts to this SSD axle housing as well.

Wraith chubs
Wraith Knuckles
Wraith universals (2 longs) OR XR10 universals (1 set)

Also Rust, I'd consider taking those short ends off your hands if you dont have a use for them. I have a set of super narrow ar60's that could possibly use them on my hilux.

OK, so basically it's for looks then? Just wondering because it can't be flipped and if you run one SSD housing, you must run both because the ring gear is on opposite side.

Its called marketing! You cant buy just one to test it.

Well i don't have those uni yet just looking to see how this mod is done ..
thanks for the link you be the first if i don't need them, but you already gave me a hint to what the "short shaft" would be good for...lol
i don't have a hilux damm...
so if i don't need them will PM U Shinjari...."thumbsup"

No, it's called scale design.

I'm not complaining, I bought 6 of them! It's just facts. You could of made them like the Wraith housings where you could of flipped the ring gear to either side of the pinion. Just my .02!

You are right, I could have. I wouldn't have been happy with the result at all. The end result would not have resembled the shape of a real axle. I don't consider the gear flip to be an issue at all so there was no need to compromise on the scale design.

Man just accept them how they are nice scale looking housing for the scx axle they can't hit it for everyone so accept it how they are or just kick rocks not being a dick but can't knock these

I'm not being a dick! I bought six of them & I like them. Why don't you let me have my opinion. I'm sure I bought more axles than you & never bashed a SSD product.

This guy I can add alot to this but I won't like I said wasn't trying to be a dick just seems like everyone has to have something negative to say so its like damn give the guys credit for a nice housing and ya I didn't buy 6 no need for 6 so ya you spent more congrats

All opinions are welcome"thumbsup"

No need to argue. I will explain any design decisions...

post em up!!!!!

well it looks like mine will be here tomorrow according to tracking #..
4 days to Canada I'm impress. Thanks RPP and SSD...looking forward to see what it looks like under the Nukizer body......

Any kind of time frame one C-Hubs/Knuckles/Lockouts? Just curious if it will be something I should wait for with this set, or just get some VP and hit up your version on the next set. As for that design, my personal desire would be to have a scx width version if the wraith hub/knuckle joint(don't need the spline, my axles are at a great angle with my current link set up). Could also resemble the VP high steer stuff and I would be tickled. Even if it doesn't steer quite as far, a few more degrees than stock would be killer. Would be enough for me to pick up some new cvd axial shafts. Would go VP, but I don't run my rig like a missile, so nylon parts and axial cvd shafts would be plenty for me!

Got a new horn to bring my drag link pretty close to parallel of the panhard. Oh my, it seems I scratched your B E A Utiful housings the other day, better hide those with more scratches.

I bought these axles because my mud truck was stripping the HD gears. I just installed the SSD axles and so far so good ! No shimming of the gears just a perfect mesh! I'm very impressed so far. I hope they will hold up to brushless 3s power. I'll check back in after the G6 festivities in October.
