New gearbox and gear options

Yep, you will have to trim the upper link mount a little to centre it (I haven't done this yet), also you need to drill 1 New mounting hole into gearbox for it. I'm running the dlux axles, and the berg gears are 100% standard, just used the dlux adaptors and bearings he supplied.

Cool, I got a bunch of parts showing tomorrow. I will get cracking on my build to get a RTR wieght with the mt case and plastic gears rear and berg housing with Dlux tubes and lightened berg gears. Still thinking about doing a mt case front. Still don't know if it with hold up to all the pulling and digging and shit.

I just measured today and I came up with the Berg mount on the MT case being approx 3mm SHORT....???

I took some accurate measurements today.

The case is 2.5mm offset of a Berg so, you will need a 5mm spacer between the MT case and Berg mount.

The center of the mount needs to be .781 from the edge of the case

Here is what I would do for the upper link mount....

I was considering selling my current upper link mounts without the small block for use on the Berg case (it would be the perfect size without a spacer like the MT needs). It would lose weight and there would be no threads to strip. You would lose some adjust ability and also ease of adjust ability but it may be worth it?

If you bolt just the bigger part of my link mount to the box and then add a spacer (3mm should be fine, ideally .140 though) you would have a super simple and correct link mount.

Could you grind down the derlin spacer and use your carbon arm mount or would this be too much of a hassle and you wouldn't get the correct upper spacing?

You cant use the CF mount because the CF will not support the links in a single sheer like that. Its too thin and will wallow out quickly. However, you could use the big delrin mount as in the pic above, layer the CF on top of it and then you would not have to use the plastic spacer like in the pics.

Your right the way you show it in the pic would be the cheaper easier option

Someone (Erik) should buy a bunch of them along with the plastic gears so we don't have to deal with nitrorcx.
That's a great idea, and avoid their new shipping price hike.

Nice Pete, I'm so ready for those gears to get here. Even though its 30 degrees outside I got the itch to crawl, hell it's been well over a year since I've crawled.

Got my adapters in the mail today and am working on getting them in, I'm having more troubles than anyone else should have because I'm using a mt 4th gear and locker cause I'm cheap and don't want to buy new shafts yet. The install is very straightforward and simple. I've only had to use 1 spacer on the motor side 3rd.
Here you can see what needs to be drilled and he spacer.

I'll update more when I work on it more.

Man, I modded an enroute spool to fit the MT plastic 4th gear. I put everything together and it feels like it binding. I cleaned all the grease off the gears, threw some blueing on the case halves. And put it back together. It seems the locker is still rubbing hard on the pass side trans case. Just want everyone to know that it's more labor intense then some may think.

I know when I put a my 4th and locker in with berg 2nd and 3rd gears the large 3rd rubs the 4th gear really bad. And I can't just shim the 3rd up because then the 4th hits the bearing. Either way the 4th has to be milled down.

How did you modify the Berg locker to fit the plastic gear?

I dont suggest putting the Berg stuff into the MT gear without a mill or some precision tooling. Youre really better off just doing a Berg 4th gear and Berg locker anyhow.
