NEW Axial 1/10 SCX10 III Jeep CJ-7 4WD Brushed RTR

Re: Scx10-iii cj-7

My personal preference would have been to see it scaled down slightly and have it on a short wheelbase, but I get the impression from The Harley Designs review that there are challenges that come with that, hence the size.

Has anyone seen the TWS CJ in person?

I noticed the size as well. I do like all of the details of the body, but I'm wondering how much bigger it is compared to a "normal" size 1/10 body.

The size kinda of reminds me of the new Element Enduro Bushido.

Re: Scx10-iii cj-7

Did anyone else notice the price has already been dropped. It was up at $579 right at launch and now Axial shows $499 which I think it a better deal for it.

that's more reasonably p[rice given the options out there and the fact that still a 10.3. The initial 579 was a bit steep TBH.

I Think 499 is a good price for it, and a decent value overall. the 579 was a very steep price and I think would have caused a flop.

I like it. I'm considering getting one for my kids to drive, and leaving it completely stock. That way I won't be all upset when they crash it.

Just saw this in my email.

Initial thoughts, it looks great. I thought it was going to be a short wheelbase, but looks like a big body instead. Small gripe, CJs used a passenger side front diff. I'm not in the market, but its a really good looking body. Prime for a stretch 2.2 build on ar60s.

I agree!
My first though was AR60s and a 13'' wheel base, maybe on the smaller Pitbull 2.2s

Re: Scx10-iii cj-7

He meant scx10.3*
I was a little surprised to see the long wheelbase myself. So I expect it to be a bigger rig like the Bronco. Especially because the proportions look spot on. Good job axial

10.3 or 12.3"? This is still 12.3". I thought for sure it was going to be short wheelbase but nope, it's standard. It's going to look big next to other 12.3 wheelbase rigs I imagine.

Yes I meant scx10.3, although I would have liked to see it scaled appropriately compared to say the gladiator or JL wrangler version, but then you you run into issues finding tires that look right, and the axle width could become an issue with accurate scale.

I agree 100%, I’m still not rushing out to order at $499.

And contacting customer support already...

Haha that’s great. Hopefully they make it right.

Finally an exciting release from Axial! I have wanted a CJ for a long time. They body isn't the best though. The fact that the grill is a separate piece molded from hard plastic means paint it and matching the body will be a pain. The black side panels are odd as well. Good to see it with straight axles though! A good yet so-so release from Axial.

I got transferred three or four times before one guy was able to handle it. The solution was to just cancel my order, refund my loyalty points, and place the order again. He then took my new order and altered the time stamp or some other wizardry to put me back in the queue as I was with my first order. One of the earlier people I was transferred to said my orders total was already low, why was I asking. My brother in Christ, I nuked 40,000 loyalty points to get it that low.

"Daniel G." at Horizon, if you are out there, you are the real MVP.

Sounds like they stepped up! good to hear there are still good people at the big companies these days.

Re: Scx10-iii cj-7

For $579 there's no way I'd choose this truck over the Miller Motorsports from RC4WD. I'm glad Horizon came to their senses on that price, and decided to be competitive. Either truck for $499 would really put me in a spot of having to make a decision...

Re: Scx10-iii cj-7

Like many, I have been waiting for a sweet CJ-7. This thing looks great, almost too great:ror:

I look forward to seeing what guys do to add to the appearance and performance of this. I could imagine this is a pretty heavy body given how huge it is.

My personal preference would have been to see it scaled down slightly and have it on a short wheelbase, but I get the impression from The Harley Designs review that there are challenges that come with that, hence the size.

This rig does look really nice. It looks like it's going to be big like the Bronco though. Especially since it's the same wheelbase as the 10.3 JLU.

I do have the TWS, but unbuilt. The TWS rigs are shorter wheelbase that fit Tamiya CC01/CC02 and MST CFX/CMX bodies.

The TWS VTR that I built is a fun little scale rig. I should post up the build when I have time.

I have thought about looking for the TWS CJ clear body for a build. I really just like the idea of a slightly smaller scale

Would love to see one of your TWS builds if you are inclined to post it.

Honestly I thought something was brewing when the discontinued the early Bronco. It’s probably what the early Bronco should have been, $499. Wouldn’t mind picking up the body though but that will be a while before they release it.

Please, Axial, I've owned so many of your kits over the years I've honestly lost count. I don't think I've ever been as excited about a release as this "thumbsup"(I'm a 1:1 CJ guy, for the record)

Can I ask one thing? When you offer an aftermarket clear body, which I'm sure you will, offer the decal kits in a couple different color options. Be perfect if they matched the originals like the ones you already had. That's all. I already have both options on pre-order.
