Best online hobby shop for new rtr

Yep, AMain is typically fast. Congrats! Definitely post up photos of it.

Sweet deal!! Love Amain and RPP for fast shipping.
A little maintenance goes a long way in these crawlers! Keeping u-joints, bearings and gears lubed helps everything last longer and run smooth and quiet.

Good advice. If you wanna play you gotta pay.

This is an oversimplification of what is happening. I'll give you an example of the type of shit that Traxxas does but from bicycles since this is where my personal ethos was formed. I will never buy a Specialized because of the frivolous lawsuits similar to Traxxas. One example being Specialized copyrighted "Roubaix" for a model of bicycle. They then sued a small bike and coffee shop in Canada called "Roubaix Cafe and bikes". This totally failed to take into account that there has been a race in Europe for the last 75-100 years called Paris-Roubaix or the fact that the shop existed before the copyright. Or the fact that the small shop was in no way threatening Specialized businesses. But small shop doesn't have money to pay a lawyer to defend against the behemoth bike company.

I'm all for protecting intellectual property but you don't have to be a dick about it. And that's pretty much how I view Traxxas. I'm not even saying I wouldn't buy a traxxas product in the future, just I prefer not give my money to a bunch of dicks.

I spent the better part of 14 years working in the outdoor action sports industry before I was married and before kids, and I am with you on Specialized. Something that hit close to home was how they sued former employees here in Northern California that started their own bike brand, Volagi, now defunct. Long story, so you can research it if interested, but it's the same b.s.

The longer I've been in the workforce and the larger the companies I work for, it's an eventuality that all large companies become the way they are. I've made my peace with it, and like you, if there is another equivalent choice, my money would go toward them.

Regarding FMS and the other lower tier brands, I would buy them from a reputable retailer, A-Main, RPP (both California companies, so I recommend them), Motion RC is another, and if all else fails, nothing really too much wrong with Horizon and Tower as they have sorted out most of their shipping/fulfilment issues.

I've bought direct from FMS and one order was DOA (an airplane). It's been 4 months and I have heard nothing, despite them receiving the defective product. I finally just had to ask for a chargeback from the credit card company. Had I bought from the major retailers, this would have been a non-issue.

Yep, I know a former Volagi employee. Had forgotten about that one. Too many to remember them all. Sheesh.

Good to see you got out there. I need a lipo battery, this stick pack sucks. Tossed out my last lipo, so old battery bulging.

Im have Zee from amazon but Hobbykings is cheaper for batteries but the shipping cost was more then the battery.
Great to see the pic of your new TRX-4 out in the wild!

HobbyKing is best for larger orders. If you want to buy a few batteries at a time or receivers, a transmitter or something like that. Then the shipping cost is easy to swallow.

Yep, think I will get the Zeee 3S shorty packs so I can put in the low CG battery tray. Just have to measure.

Is my truck on the rocks? It’s going to take many tumbles. My line picking outweighs my driving ability, lol. Lots of tumbles, lol.
Yeah I guess I was stating the obvious.. sorry. Comes from a couple times early on when for whatever reason I didn't have a battery secured cause thought no need.. just testing this new component or whatever. Then next thing rig is rolling over slinging battery around. My bad for mentioning it.
